Is there an option for table salt without added fluoride? I really regret that fluoride is now being added to table salt, even though there are health concerns. This causes me great astonishment. What a shame, I won't be buying any more!

Hello MIUBE, Hello, under "Jura-Sel" you will find various products with different compositions. In addition to the Jura-Sel table salt with iodine and fluorine, we also have a Jura-Sel table salt with added iodine, which is not fluoridated, see https://www.migros.ch/de/product/106223500000. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Migros, you should urgently change the title and picture of the article and also your language. "Fluorine" is toxic and is not found in any food. The salt pack is therefore correctly labeled "fluoridated". You should therefore use this term.

Hello MUBE, thank you for your comment, your criticism is justified. We have gladly asked the responsible department to replace the photo and the title. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

It's a shame that fluorine is now being added to the 1 kg of salt. We already take in far too much fluorine. So now I'll have to buy my salt somewhere else.

Hello Staubsuugi70, In accordance with legal requirements and on the recommendation of the FOPH (Federal Office of Public Health), iodine and fluorine are added to a large proportion of the table salts we produce. However, our range always includes salt qualities without such additives. The minerals potassium iodide and potassium fluoride added to the salt are not intended to harm you, but are valuable (and safe) additives in the dosage used to support your health. Iodine to prevent iodine deficiency diseases (goitre, cretinism), fluorine to prevent tooth decay. However, we are not always able to offer all packaging units in the variants with and without iodine/fluorine. If you do not wish to use the additives, you can always purchase Sel des Alpes without these substances. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

What is the difference between this salt and the sel de alpes with flour and iodine?

Hello Michi2000, thank you for the question. The primary difference between the two salts is their origin. JuraSel comes from the Jura and is produced in Basel. Sel des Alpes comes from the Alps and is produced in Bex. JuraSel also comes from soil drilling and Sel des Alpes from rock drilling. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Is the salt in the 1 kg pack without iodine and fluorine no longer available?

Hello Kafioma, unfortunately the 1kg pack was less popular with customers, which is why we no longer offer this item. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why is E536 table salt used in JuraSel and not another release agent such as E170?

Hello Figaro28, thank you for the question. Ferrocyanides (e.g. potassium ferrocyanide E 536 or sodium ferrocyanide E 535) have many technological advantages over other anti-caking agents. They are readily soluble in water and can be easily and homogeneously added to the salt in the form of an aqueous solution. In the case of fluoride salt, this solution also contains potassium fluoride and potassium iodide in addition to potassium ferrocyanide. In contrast to anti-caking agents, which are based on physical effects (e.g. magnesium carbonate E 504, calcium carbonate E 170, calcium phosphate E 341 or silicon dioxide E 551), a long-lasting, good anti-caking effect is already achieved in quantities of a few milligrams per kilogram of salt. In order to achieve a comparable effect, a quantity of other anti-caking agents is generally required that is 500 to 1000 times greater than that of ferrocyanides (addition of 1 % instead of 0.001 %). These anti-caking agents also have to be dosed as solids, which is technologically much more complex than adding them in liquid form. No harmful toxicological effects of ferrocyanides are known or scientifically proven in the dosages used for salt. For these reasons, ferrocyanides have become established as a standard additive to prevent the formation of lumps in table salt. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, there used to be these 125gr tins with a rocker at the top for sprinkling for very small and normal quantities, they are no longer available in our Migros, I haven't found it here either, is this really no longer available? Would be a pity
