What exactly does without alcohol mean? Does it still contain some alcohol or does it mean0.0%?
Hello Sternchen-x, thank you for your inquiry about the alcohol content of non-alcoholic beverages. According to the FDHA (Federal Department of Home Affairs) ordinance on beverages, a non-alcoholic beverage is a beverage from which alcohol has been removed or in which the fermentation of the wort is controlled in such a way that no alcohol is produced. The content of (ethyl) alcohol must not exceed 0.5% by volume. Traces of alcohol can therefore also be contained in a non-alcoholic drink. However, there is no health risk for children. In this context, it is interesting to know that small amounts of alcohol (ethanol) are also naturally contained in other products: Bananas that have been ripened for 10 days contain 0.6 percent alcohol, grapefruit 0.1 percent, sauerkraut 0.5 percent, white bread 0.2 percent and grape juice 0.4 percent. Other fruit juices, kefir and vinegar also contain traces of alcohol. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
