The color went on my hair easily, well & opaque BUT, this is definitely dark brown or almost black! I don't understand why it says "light brown" on the packaging. Luckily it looks good on me but be careful if you really want a light brown. My hair is slightly longer than shoulder length and 2 packs were just about enough.
