My kids made these cupcakes and, as always, ate leftover batter from the bowl. I only read afterwards that the raw batter should not be eaten. Is that a bad thing? What can happen?

Hello Yves1, thank you for your inquiry. As we understand your concerns, it is important to make well-founded clarifications. These have not yet been completed. We will get back to you as soon as we have the answer from the specialist department. We ask for your patience. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Yves1, thank you for your patience. Grain is a natural product. The grain plant is exposed to various influences (weather, fertilizer, wild animals, etc.) in the field. For this reason, contamination with bacteria of the species Escherichia (E.) coli can occur. These are part of the normal intestinal flora in humans and animals. In rare cases, these bacteria can produce a toxin - shiga toxin. These are pathogenic types of bacteria that can cause acute intestinal inflammation. The grain undergoes extensive treatment before being processed in the mills, but contamination cannot be completely prevented. For this reason, the information on the packaging is a precautionary measure that flour and flour products (e.g. dough) should not be eaten raw. The bacteria are completely eliminated during the subsequent heating step (e.g. baking). Best regards, your M-Infoline team
