The clay seal is not food-safe. It is used to make pottery vessels waterproof. To make a vessel food-safe, it must be specially fired with a food-safe glaze 🍽️.

Or can I seal it before painting, then paint it and then put something on top to make it glossy? Like if it had been in the kiln? Do you have anything like that?

Thank you for your request.
The clay sealant is applied after the clay has hardened and is absorbed into the pores.
This can be done before painting.
If you are firing the clay in a kiln anyway, the clay sealant is not necessary, as the glaze that is then applied also closes the pores.
We do not carry any glazes in our range, you would have to buy these in a specialist store and get advice there.

The firing was just an example of the question of whether there is something that can be applied after painting to create a kind of glaze effect. So that the painted object is then shiny. Like a kind of clear varnish.

This product is a one-component sealing solution that penetrates deep into the ceramic material and closes all pores permanently. 100ml Tondicht is not flammable when dry. You can therefore use a candle on treated clay without risk of ignition. However, it is always advisable never to leave a burning candle unattended for general safety reasons. Hello milena27777 Thank you for your inquiry. The items are simply poured out with clay sealant. Excess material can be poured back into the bottle and can then be used again. The clay sealant dries solid within 6-8 hours, only then can the object be filled with water. A single application is sufficient.
