Hello, question: Can I freeze the cake in advance?

Hello Migipedia team, are the whole egg and milk in this cake pasteurized? I am asking because of SS. What about other cakes from Migros, e.g. Schwarzwälder, is everything here made from pasteurized eggs, cream and milk? How can I tell whether the products contain raw milk or raw eggs? Thank you in advance.

Hello MangoFan, neither fresh eggs nor raw milk/cream are used for the industrial production of patisserie, cakes and tarts etc. For hygienic reasons, liquid egg (a pasteurized egg mass) and pasteurized milk or pasteurized cream are used in industrial food production. Therefore, these products can also be consumed by pregnant women without hesitation. However, we would like to point out that both Monte Generoso Cake and most Black Forest cakes contain alcoholic ingredients. Alcohol should be avoided as much as possible during pregnancy. I ate a cake 4 years ago that looked exactly like Monte Generoso, but it had white decorative sprinkles and the wrapper was yellow. Could you tell me what the flavor and name of that version was? Thank you!

Hello Snorlax, thank you for your question. That was probably the lemon-flavored Monte "Limone". We discontinued the product in 2022. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Was the Monte Generoso cake an invention of a single one of your pastry chefs or produced as a group? In the former case, is it possible to know its name? Thank you for your kind feedback.

Good morning Clambrosi, thank you very much for your question. The article was originally launched by the former Jowa enterprise. Unfortunately, we do not have any other detailed information. We trust in your understanding. Best regards, Your M-Infoline team

Is the Generoso vegetarian? The ingredient E471 / E472b states that this could come from animal fat. What about the Generoso? Is it vegetarian or not? This is certainly also interesting for Muslims, whether there is pork in the cake. It would be best if you simply made a vegan Generoso, then many would be happy! :)

Hello Sheily, the Monte Generoso Cake is vegetarian as per the recipe. It also contains no additives of animal origin. However, it has not been certified as vegetarian and therefore does not carry the corresponding V-label "vegetarian" on the packaging. Regarding the emulsifiers (E 471, E 472 etc.): these additives are based on fat building blocks (fatty acids or glycerine). The fat used for their production is usually of vegetable origin (palm kernel oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, etc.). Theoretically, the fat can also be of animal origin (pork and/or beef fat), but this is no longer common today. It can now be assumed that emulsifiers or other fat-based additives are of vegetable origin. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Migros, I have always loved your Generoso Cake. As I have been vegan for over 3 years now, I could no longer enjoy it. Wouldn't it be possible to make the Generoso Cake vegan? I would totally celebrate you for that 😊😊😊😊 lg

Hello Lilana, thank you for your message. In view of your description, we understand why you are refraining from enjoying this delicious treat. At the same time, we appreciate you drawing our attention to a new composition. We are always open to suggestions about our range! For this reason, our specialist department will be happy to take up your idea as part of the next redesign of our range. If necessary, they will add a vegan option to the current selection :-). We hope our efforts are in your interest. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

what a great idea! i was just about to ask the same question! my family can't eat generoso anymore and miss it very much!

Not being able to eat is the wrong statement. You don't want to eat Generoso Cake because it has animal ingredients. It is your personal decision!

@Magnoliapower Not necessarily, my lactose intolerance was also one of the reasons why I decided to go vegan, as it is better for my health.

Hello, I can only agree with previous requests: Why can't you make the Generoso without alcohol, but do without the new version! There are already raspberry rolls, etc. Thank you and best regards.

Migros, you're totally contradicting yourselves! You're not making a second Generoso Cake because of tradition. But now you're making a limited edition. illogical..... Epiphany cake is also available with and without grapes

It's also a limited edition.... If this variety is in high demand, will that perhaps lead to them leaving it in the rack after all?

Hello djbetty, thank you for your question. As we received many customer requests in which our customers wanted an additional version, we decided to take this step. On Migipedia you also have the opportunity to vote for your favorite version. It is important to us to take customer opinions seriously and, where possible, to adapt our range accordingly. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I don't need Generoso without alcohol, but more people have asked for it here, you said: "The Generoso cake has been one of our best-selling cakes for years. We still stock it with the original recipe, which contains cherry. " and " We are sticking to this recipe with cherry because the cake is so popular and we have no plans to change it" Now you are making a different version, it just doesn't make sense. Nowhere have I read customer requests for a different Generoso cake. What makes you think that? Where do you see the desire for a different flavor?

Hello djbetty, thank you for your reply. Our people in charge have decided to launch an additional limited edition, which our community can vote on. However, this has nothing to do with the classic you mentioned. The new version would also be on offer. Incidentally, the three versions available for voting do not contain alcohol. Why is there alcohol (kirsch) in the cake?

Hello Leandra10-_, thank you for your question. The Generoso cake has been one of our best-selling cakes for years. We still stock it with the original recipe, which contains cherry. We state this in the declaration. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why can't you make the cake without the cherry?

You could, but if it's a best-selling Migros cake for decades, you shouldn't change anything about it, one of the few M classics still in the range. But it didn't used to contain palm oil.

Hello Rhyfallforelle, thank you for your comment. Palm oil has been included in the recipe since the beginning. Before 2014, the legal requirement was that only vegetable oil had to be declared and not the exact source. The Food Act was then amended in 2014. This stipulates that the origin of vegetable oils must also be declared, and we have been declaring palm oil on the packaging accordingly since 2014. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Leandra10-_, thank you for your feedback. We are sticking to this recipe with cherry as the cake is so popular and we have no plans to change it - thank you for your understanding. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

If you've changed the recipe, it won't taste the same!

Hello Chantami, thank you for your question. We're sorry that the Generoso cake didn't convince you as usual. We are pleased to inform you that this product has not undergone any recipe changes. The article is much appreciated as it is. Sincerely, your M-Infoline team
