Hello Migros team Is the Gala cheese with garden herbs still available to buy? Here in Glarus I can only ever find the Nature and Alpenchili varieties. A little variety would be welcome :-) Thank you very much

We have had an increasing number of customer complaints that the very fine Gala cheese cannot be removed from the paper. So I did a test myself for 20 days. The red ribbon rarely comes off without soiling your fingers. Please try this too and you will come to the conclusion that it would make more sense to fill tubs like other fresh cheeses so that older people can also enjoy the fine Gala. Thank you for your detailed test and your feedback.
Based on your comment, we contacted our supplier and asked for an analysis. On the other hand, we bought some samples ourselves and tested the packaging. However, neither our supplier nor our internal tests revealed any deviations.
Our supplier has advised us that it is important to consume the portions fresh from the fridge and not to store them at room temperature for too long.

While reading the ingredients, I realized that they contain "edible gelatin"-what kind of gelatin is it? Of animal or vegetable origin? I would not want a per se vegetarian product to contain animal extracts....

Gala in portions contains pork gelatin. This substance is used for two reasons: to give structure to the product and to better detach the paper thin from the cheese. Gelatin, therefore, must be considered indispensable for portioned Gala.
This problem, however, is not unknown to us. In fact, it was precisely one of the reasons why the new "Gala in trays" was developed. In this form of presentation, Gala fresh cheese comes in a convenient resealable tray, spreads better, and contains no gelatin or other animal products (except for milk and milk products).
