How many seeds can these things have? Yikes, today I bought the first clementine of the season and it was just a swap. Bomb full of seeds. Migros should please write that on the price list. WITH seeds... Grapes are fine too. This was a swap and I probably won't buy them again this season... I'm just not a fan of seeds.
I have never seen grapes labeled "with seeds", neither in Migros nor anywhere else. If they are, then they are specially labeled with no or few seeds. With mandarins and clementines, seeds are the rule. There are also seedless varieties that have been bred, e.g. satsumas. However, these varieties are generally more expensive as they are more difficult to produce.
Now I've also bought clementines at Migros and see the problem. Four or five seeds per slice is too much, I spit more than I eat 🤔. Never experienced this before, as far as I can remember.

As clementines are a natural product, it can happen that some have a few more seeds. We make every effort to offer our customers varieties that meet their needs. Hi TulpiNLCH I can only agree with you, I had exactly the same experience. I hate it so much when there are seeds in the clementines, even though there shouldn't be. But it could also be that customers just add the mandarins to the clementines if they have put too many in the bag. Just a guess.

It seems to be quite a myth that there are seeds in mandarins and none in clementines. Anyway, for some time now I've only been buying mandarins (if there are any) and I usually find fewer seeds in them than I used to in clementines, and they taste much better. But beware, insider tip: for me, the season doesn't start until just before Christmas - I know why and can wait.

It was always the other way around. The yellow mandarins (we used to have the fine satsumas) rarely or never had seeds in them. The orange clementines always had at least 2 per slice.

Exactly. But nowadays it's being bandied about everywhere that clementines are supposed to be seedless, unlike mandarins. It seems to me to be a bad marketing gimmick to make it easier to sell people the tasteless clementines. And then there are disappointed reactions like the one above.

The range of oranges/clementines on offer at Migros is generally sad this year; most of them are already half mushy when they arrive. Once you've found a few and taken them home, the slices are so strangely dried out or they taste like little or nothing, a few then taste somehow .... fermented? Never experienced anything like it, several times, in different Migros. Only at the Winterthur site? Can't be? I've given up. And because you write "We make every effort to offer our customers varieties that meet their needs", I have to disagree. The effort was not really great. Even if Migros can't look inside the fruit (re seeds), the mushy specimens - and they weren't just individual pieces - really shouldn't be on display at 12.00 noon. Even today, which is why not a single one ended up at my house.
