Why is Migros removing the very best yogurts from its lineup? They're so delicious and have real fruit pieces in them—I just can't understand it at all 😢😢

I know why sales of that delicious Elsa yogurt have dropped.
They’re on the top shelf. I’ve always been able to reach my apricot yogurt because I’m tall enough.
Everyone else can’t reach them, so they just end up buying a yogurt from Emmi or some other brand that’s on the shelf below.
It’s a shame when the best has to disappear like that.

That's how it was for me, too. I'm 1m80cm tall, but even I had to use the step stool at the refrigerated section to reach the wild berries.
Hi lua_cheia, thank you for your message. We understand that it’s disappointing when your favorite products are no longer available. ☹ We no longer carry Elsa yogurts due to declining demand. We’ve passed on your request to be able to purchase these products from us again to the relevant department. Best regards, Tabea
I went to Migros today just for the Elsa yogurt (even though the kids have been missing the Stracciatella flavor for a while now)... It’s a shame there’s one less reason to go to Migros. The coffee yogurt, apricots, and rhubarb were very tasty and clearly better than the other yogurt brands.
I miss them a lot, too. The slightly higher price was more than made up for by the better taste, local ingredients, and the delicate texture.

I can only agree with the other users. At first, the yogurts were only removed from the shelves in Herisau, but they were still available at the larger Migros stores in St. Gallen. I sometimes drove to other Migros stores just to buy the rhubarb yogurts. Now they’re nowhere to be found.
Since the rhubarb yogurt contained significantly less sugar than all the other yogurts, it tasted much better. Could it be that sugar is a cheap filler, making the production of the other yogurts cheaper and more profitable?
And another question: where are Elsa products sold now? I was under the impression that Elsa is part of the Migros Group.

Hi brittypam, thank you very much for your feedback and questions. We’re sorry you can no longer find the rhubarb yogurt. We understand how frustrating it is to miss out on a favorite product.
Due to declining sales, we’ve removed the Elsa yogurts from our product lineup.
You’ll find a similarly low sugar content in our organic yogurts with no added sugar. These contain neither granulated sugar nor other sweetening ingredients—just natural fruit and milk sugars. Feel free to check out the overview here: Organic Yogurts with No Added Sugar. In addition, we’ve been reducing the added sugar in our yogurts for years. Between 2016 and 2024, we lowered the sugar content by 15% and are continuing to work on it. By the end of 2028, we aim to reduce it by another 5% as part of the “Milan Declaration.”
By the way, the name “Elsa” on the yogurts is unrelated to Migros’ in-house production company Estavayer Lait SA (ELSA). You can recognize Estavayer Lait SA products by the identification code CH 2434 on the packaging.
We’d like to emphasize that we don’t use sugar as a cheap filler. Instead, we’re working to maintain the taste and quality of our yogurts even with less sugar.
We hope this information is helpful. Best regards, Mara
