I was told in the store that the ball is no longer available in order to save plastic. What do I do with the total detergent now? I don't think tipping it into the machine by hand is good for the environment, it doesn't have a lid for measuring and anyway: the disposable plastic pack is available, the reusable dosing ball is not. Off to the Coop?

Perhaps this only applies to the Coop Megastores. I was in a megastore. It's possible that they don't have them in smaller stores. Also, they are not really balls but flatter (see picture). But they work just as well. I tried the dispenser for the first time at the weekend and there's nothing to complain about 👍🏻

I was in Migros today and asked the customer service. They didn't have any balls to give away and didn't know anything about them. They directed me to the detergent department in the store, where I was told that these balls were available free of charge (the customer service staff obviously didn't even know that Migros had removed these balls from its range). I then went to look again in the detergent department, but there were no such balls there...

The problem is the idiotic design of the washing machines. In the absence of dosing balls, my partner poured the liquid detergent into a child's plastic cup with a scale and then into the drum. When the program starts, water is first pumped out of the sump, then fresh water is poured in. So some of the detergent goes straight down the hole. Are there household washing machines that allow all the water to be drained? I don't think so. We are still dealing with technology from the evil past, which prevents anything ecological. There always has to be water in the pump for it to pull at all. If you want to explain that to the rental management, then have fun!

I've also seen some in the Coop Megastore, I don't know if there are any in the "normal and small stores but it's certainly worth asking.

There is talk of plastic and microplastic pollution everywhere, but the global detergent industry had the glorious idea of selling liquid detergent in directly portioned plastic, I will never buy such a thing.

Do you have an emergency stop function? Then you can drain the water, press the emergency stop button, open the machine and only then put the detergent in. A bit time-consuming but could work if that's the only problem 👍🏻

Hello TimmyTim, since the beginning of the year you can no longer find the dosing balls on the shelves. It is very important to us to act as sustainably as possible. Thanks to our promise to make packaging and products as sustainable as possible, Migros can no longer sell the dosing balls on the detergent shelf with a clear conscience. Dosing is guaranteed by the rinsing compartment on the washing machine. The correct dosage of detergent is therefore still guaranteed. For sustainable washing, we recommend following the dosage instructions on the detergent packaging. If this is not possible with your detergent or washing machine, you can still obtain the dosing balls from customer service. Kind regards, Susi
