Price increases are the order of the day throughout Europe. In Germany, for example, a year ago butter was somewhere around 1.5 euros, today it is sometimes over 3 euros (branded product)... Inflation will bring even higher prices...

In addition to the improved cost situation and the avoidance of food waste, the change offers the following qualitative advantages: - Bigger, more voluminous peaks - Typical croissant structure à clearly more pronounced steps - More regular shape The individual products weigh more - so the total weight and price have remained the same. It's unbelievable what marketing can come up with. Food waste can only serve as an argument when there are 0 peaks in it.

It obviously has nothing to do with food waste; it's just another (miserable) attempt by Migros to justify the hefty price increase for the reduction from 6 to 5 croissants. The food waste justification is probably the joke of the day (I can still somehow understand the other reasons or they sound plausible, even if I don't believe them): How does Migros know how many customers have thrown away these croissants from the former 6-pack? Was there a tracker in the croissants and Migros was then able to determine that there was food waste and that's why they reduced it from 6 to 5 so that there was less food waste?
