The new Beeff jetky Jalapeño from M-Budget tastes sweet, over-seasoned and too dry. Why is this product not yet listed in the Migros app?

Hi missy_89, thank you for your question. The M-Budget Beef Jerky Nature and M-Budget Beef Jerky Paprika are already online. Best regards, Lea
Is it normal that jerky consists of 22% sugar? That's insane
This is a product where the taste is very concentrated due to the lack of liquid. Look how much sugar dried fruit has... The sugar is also often contained in the marinade used or, for example, to support the salt, to deacidify the vinegar and to make the meat more tender / softer.
But the jerky I've had so far has all had around 1 or 2 grams of sugar. I just don't understand😅 This is about added sugar, the second ingredient after meat, not like fruit that naturally has sugar in it and is concentrated by drying. Example Lidl Jerky, 1 gram /100g I'm just asking where 22% sugar comes from, maybe cheap filler to add more weight? Could explain the price. common big jerky brands marinated have half as much sugar, if it's the marinade that does it, whereas migros natur also has that much sugar. I just think it's super disgusting to have such sweet meat, the chocolate I like only has a little more sugar. but so be it, if you like it that's great, that's why I'm so surprised who puts 6 cubes of sugar in each pack and whether that's still normal😁.
Seems a bit much to me, but even high-quality jerky contains a certain amount of sugar. Sugar is a flavor carrier and you need it because there is practically no fat in such meat.

Thank you that all three are now available. My question: Why did they decide to make 2 out of 3 versions "hot"? One with chili, the other with jalapeño? And the one with chili is misleadingly called "paprika" online... It would have been better to make a teriyaki version :)

Hello Bodenseeknusperli, thank you for your inquiry. Sugar is often added during the marinating process to improve the flavor and serve as a preservative, hence the long shelf life. However, we offer different varieties, some with more sugar, others with less. Best regards, Alex

Hello missy_89, thank you very much for your question. In addition to the "Classic" variant, "Chili" and "Jalapeño" were the flavors that were most convincing during development. The specialist department has been informed of your valuable comment regarding the online designation (paprika instead of chili) of our M-Budget Beef Jerky Chili. We are looking into this issue. The department managers have also been informed of your suggestion to add a teriyaki version to the range. Best regards, Lea
