Tomatoes became 33% more expensive within a year. Was there a special reason?

The reasons should be known to everyone by now. All manufacturers are complaining about higher transportation, packaging, raw materials and energy prices, well, food is just getting more expensive at the moment. Migros can't take the blame for everything.

Or else: Migros has to make the product so expensive that it can ultimately be thrown out of the range "due to lack of demand".

Or you take the wave of price increases with you and increase more than you have to, because the customer just accepts it, because everyone is doing it and it must be right. Ps: I'm not saying that not everything has become a little more expensive to maintain and an increase is not justified. But it was investigated and proven that a lot of unnecessary increases were made in order to enrich themselves even more.
I was recently in the USA... the prices there have exploded even more than here and many things are massively more expensive than here... there were some complaints here about MB olive oil... why the prices have climbed from 4.70 to 6.50... only very few people know that the olive harvest was very, very poor... and that prices have risen massively as a result... so I understand why the retailers have increased prices... in Germany tomato puree used to cost 0.79 cents... now 1.15 (even more than here...)

And now? I'm not really interested in what the pricing is like in America.

Prices have risen worldwide, and Switzerland is no exception...that was my comment on why prices have risen...

Hello ub40, raw material prices have risen sharply worldwide for a good year now. There are various reasons for this: the rising prices in the procurement market for raw materials, packaging materials and manufacturing costs are currently a major challenge. Electricity and gas prices in particular have risen dramatically, and these higher energy costs are making transportation and the manufacture of almost all products more expensive. Migros Industry will also be imposing higher procurement prices from 2023, and Migros will be forced to pass on some of these additional costs to its customers. At the same time, however, we have also been able to make savings across the entire value chain. These savings cushion the price increases or we can pass them on to our customers in the form of lower prices for individual items/assortments. Kind regards, Susi

😂😂😂 On what planet? Commodity prices such as oil, petrol etc. have been at an all-time low for 15 months. We're getting tired of these Migros excuses about price increases. What Migros is doing here is pure rip-off and more and more hidden price increases. Smaller packs, less content and higher prices. It's simply outrageous what Migros is doing here at the expense of consumers!

I don't know where you've been for the last few weeks and months, but certainly not here. In some cases, goods are purchased months in advance. Tomato paste, for example, has risen from 0.39 cents to 1.15 cents in Germany. Aren't they gambling? I would prefer MB Pelatti to be listed in all stores.

We're talking about Switzerland here, not other countries! There are also such platforms in Germany, so I would give them a try 🤣- and no need to be cheeky!
