Since I have some free time at the moment, I wanted to rate yesterday's weekly shopping. I bought about 200.- worth of products that I have been buying for years, e.g. Sennenmutschli, organic Chnöpfli flour, tea sausage, organic Twister (bread) etc. I noticed that about 90% of the items I bought are not displayed at all, but I should rate products that I bought once over a month ago. Why does this option "Rate your last purchase" even exist? No wonder more and more products are disappearing if you can never rate them.
Yes, I already commented on this about a year ago: these suggestions are totally gaga. It's especially funny when "Your 3 acquaintances", "Your 3 new ones" and "Your 3 favorites" list exactly the same 3 items and none of them have been in my basket either frequently or during my last shopping trip. Have fun reloading this page several times, the suggestions are then shuffled each time, very adventurous and amusing with purchases made several months ago. However, the one thing that never appears is the one item that I really want to rate and that I bought recently.

Apparently they realized that this hit parade was quite a habakuk, because it's gone, at least for me. Instead, the products to be rated rotate like a slot machine.

Ah, thank you. And I thought I'd seen that on the overview page. I just rarely see it because I always enter via the activity stream. I also see the rating page maybe once or twice a year. Also for me: completely random selection. Among my favorites are two things that I've only bought once, about three months ago. Among my friends, too, all products that I only bought once, three months ago, one of which is also in my favorites. Yes, and the 3 new ones - there are three products listed that I've already bought several times. It would really be better to just leave them out.
This time I'll just say no hurry, we're rather amused😁
I'm curious... I just wonder what the whole thing is supposed to be good for? It's just amusing to see what kind of products appear. 3 "new" products right now: table salt, carrots and chocolate yoghurt :-) I've never bought anything in the last 30 years ;-)

It's also quite funny for me today... The three "new" things are bananas, a loaf of bread and lemons, which I buy every now and then. The three "favorites" are things that I've only bought once (one a long time ago) and will probably never need again.
Hello everyone I'm pleased that the products we've calculated for you to rate are amusing 😉. But now let's have some fun. I'll be happy to give you an insight into the current recommendation mechanisms and tell you what we're currently working on. One thing up front: I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WILL BE SHOWN. I have no insight into your purchases, they are all encrypted. So I can't make any statements about the quality or otherwise of individual recommendations.Let's start at the beginningOur customers who show their Cumulus card when shopping at Migros are at the beginning. This way we know what ends up in your shopping baskets. If a Cumulus number is then linked to the Migros login, this forms the basis for making recommendations. You may know that the Cumulus card is a so-called household card and that if several people share a card - as my partner and I do - the purchases are mixed up. That's why I sometimes end up with products in my recommendations that I'm surprised about. However, this is hardly the answer to your questions. Not all your purchase data is available to us for the recommendations and product reviews. There is a time restriction on the one hand and a quantity restriction on the other. Specifically, a maximum of 700 different products that were purchased no more than six months ago.And now it's getting a bit complicatedUntil a few weeks ago, we used the same elements with recommendations here https://migipedia.migros.ch/de and here https://migipedia.migros.ch/de/bewerten, "3 Friends", "3 New", "3 Favorites". Not all of them are equally "smart". For example, if you buy 10 individual carrots, they may well slip into the favorites. The reason for this is that the data available to us is based on the number of items and not, for example, at receipt level. There are also other factors that influence the recommendations. If you skip a product in the recommendations, it won't come back as quickly. Unless we run out of shopping data for you. We also have the option of prioritizing individual products in the recommendations. So if a product manager wants to have chocolate novelties rated around Easter, we could prioritize these products. In concrete terms, this means that anyone who has bought such a novelty will also be suggested for rating, in first place. These are a few factors that influence the product suggestions. What definitely doesn't work wellWe can't recommend anything to people who are not logged in or logged in without a Cumulus connection. We show these people new products that are currently being rated or what others are currently rating. Unfortunately, there are always people who think that these are recommendations for them, and they then write "I don't know" and give a star - not very useful. Or it's always exciting around Christmas when people write "I gave the Lego police car as a present, I can't rate it". So I ask myself, why don't you just skip the police car? There's not much we can do about the police car case. But we can with the other one. And that brings me to the outlook,a kind of monthly task ...for those who want it. On the home page of Migipedia https://migipedia.migros.ch/de there is this element with the percentage. A quick question in between, what percentage are you at? This element will soon replace the other mechanisms "3 friends", "3 newcomers", "3 favorites". Anyone who wants to can then use their honest and hopefully meaningful feedback to bring their rating quota up to 100% month after month by rating 25 products from their last purchases. In the new month, the game starts all over again. Our initial experience on the start page gives us every reason to believe that this will work, but we won't stop at 100%, i.e. 25 products. Anyone who wants to rate more can do so by simply continuing - either in the same place or in a few weeks' time using the revised search. I've already told you what the team will be working on from March onwards, so I hope I've been able to shed some light on this. I'm sure you'll now be asking questions and saying "yes, but", or perhaps "I think that's stupid" or at best praise. In any case, I'm ready for it 😉 Best regards Philipp

Hi Philipp_Migros I think that's the most detailed answer we've ever read on a topic here. Thank you for taking the time to do this. In my case, the recommended products are sometimes suitable and sometimes less so. I'll take a closer look at what you show me.
