In order to get a coffee and drink it outside on the terrace, I and other customers without a certificate were refused entry. In my opinion, this behavior by Migros is discriminatory and a major contribution by this company to the division of society into two classes. If you are not even allowed to get a drink as a takeaway and are treated like an outcast, you have to ask yourself whether they are still acting with common sense!

That's not true; according to federal regulations, you only need a certificate if you sit inside a restaurant. You don't need a certificate for take-away and sitting outside (or getting something inside the restaurant and sitting outside if the restaurant offers this option), you just need to wear a mask; the same applies if you want to go to the toilet.
If you take part in a buffet, sitting on the terrace, you don't need a certificate, but if you go to refill your plate, you absolutely need a mask (if you don't have one, the service with mask will certainly help or he will refill the plate according to your request, that's why it's called SERVICE).
Dear Marc At Migros Brunaupark, they did the same thing on Monday, or rather they were obviously misinformed (in my opinion it's not a misunderstanding, but a clear lack of knowledge when I look back at yesterday's discussions at the entrance); if you wanted to get something in the restaurant and eat outside, you couldn't get in without a certificate. Yesterday, the staff didn't let you argue with them, even when they were shown the federal regulations in black and white on their cell phones. It didn't affect me because I didn't want to consume anything in the restaurant, I was just shopping, but I felt sorry for all the people who were brusquely turned away by the "doorman", even though they were in the right (that's how you can lose customers)... Kind regards
Exactly. It was the same for me in Migros Brunaupark. I just wanted to get a glass to sit on the terrace and have a drink. But no. Only with a certificate. And yes, these "doormen" were very rude. You spend thousands of francs in Migros over the years and are now considered a second-class citizen!
I have just been to the Migros Restaurant Claraplatz, where there is also no admission without a certificate! A guest has just been rudely accosted by a member of staff because she was already standing at the dessert buffet without having been checked, but it says at the entrance that the check only takes place at the till. There is obviously a lack of instruction. For the time being, I will no longer visit a Migros restaurant, even though I have been vaccinated.
I was pleasantly surprised when I asked in the Migros in Langendorf how I could get onto the terrace without a certificate so that my godmother could get me my drink and we could drink it together outside. The answer was that I was allowed to go in normally and get my coffee myself, everything like those with a certificate, but sitting inside was not allowed! How are you supposed to understand the world? Why do you need the certificate at all? Just to sit inside? Because the mask is worn until you are seated, regardless of whether you have a certificate or not. And by the way, everyone is allowed to go to the toilet!!! Why they made such a "fuss" with you is a mystery to me. I guess every restaurant does what it wants. But never uniformly. That's Switzerland. By the way, I'm also a genuine CH.

I suspect that all the uncertainty at Migros restaurants is due to the whole process of self-service, take-away and possibly a terrace. The certificate is also checked in different places: either when entering the self-service area or at the checkout. I have found that the second variant, used in many places at low-traffic times or in places with less traffic, would be the more understandable variant for VERY BUSY customers, because the mask is already worn beforehand: -- The mask is then worn at least up to the checkpoint, i.e. up to the checkout, take-away customers and terrace visitors can wear the mask up to the checkpoint.i.e. up to the checkout, take-away customers and terrace visitors leave the mask on, restaurant visitors could take it off NOW, but usually leave it on until they reach their seat anyway, because for some people paying, showing the certificate and stowing the mask away is too much at once -- In contrast, the check directly upon entering the self-service area / take-away is a direct REQUEST to take off the mask... QR-CODE CHECKED = TAKE OFF THE MASK ! The question arises: Is it feasible for Migros to check restaurant visitors (the others go directly to the exit/terrace) AFTER THE CHECKOUT ? - or would this procedure tempt people to behave in the self-service area in front of the checkout as a customer WITHOUT a certificate as if they were a restaurant visitor and then present the staff with a fait accompli during the certificate check ? In principle, this could be explained with a signpost, but we all know : who reads this ? and above all : we all know how poisoned the situation is because of this certificate - a difficult undertaking !

Thank you very much for the long and detailed answer. In my case, I asked the ticket inspector at the entrance and she said that I could go through the restaurant like everyone else after the checkout and then onto the terrace.

I changed my post after discussing it with friends - because I originally assumed only sensible, oriented and non-provocative customers. Sorry Personally, I liked the situation before with "mask off only at the table" - but not as close seating as now - much better!

Yes, I think it has complicated everything: More work, more staff, not uniformly regulated.

In the Migros City Zurich restaurant you have to have 3G to sit outside. Really an insult!

is probably a joke for sitting in the fresh air. Has someone misunderstood?
