Sorry Migi, with all due love, but something has to change. find out about chicken with brother or hen and rooster or similar labels!!!! No matter what, the main thing is NO eggs from the wholesaler except maybe "respeggt"

Hello everyone, thank you for your message. We have only had 3 flocks moulted in the whole of 2021. However, our XL eggs have nothing to do with moulting. The eggs of our hens automatically get bigger as the hens get older. The older the hen, the bigger the egg. Best regards, Noemi

Moulting is a good thing, isn't it? You keep the chickens despite their unproductivity?
What does this mean by moulting or is there talk of forced moulting, I have no idea about chickens, why are 3 groups moulted? Is that a bad thing? I got our XXL eggs from someone privately, these farmers have had chickens for ages and the big old hens give the big eggs. But they are always outside and have really good grain feed, egg yolks are naturally almost orange. They talk about keeping them in the dark and starving them because that's the only way to produce eggs. I am now confused, because the chickens I see scratching in the meadows are fat and healthy, and I thought it had something to do with age/breed?

Sorry for my brutal answer. Not everything is rosy in Switzerland either. Even organic chickens are not cuddled to death and have a shitty life. If you know someone who lovingly keeps chickens until they die of old age, you should use them instead of the discounters. So many eggs don't end up in the stores because every hen has free range on an alpine pasture.
