I always just tear off the strip at the top. Then I close the bag with a clothespin. I find this more practical than using the adhesive strip.

Exactly, I sometimes have trouble opening this type of packaging at all. With one tug... the grated cheese flies in all directions.

With Duo-Pack, I use the scissors to make sure nothing happens. There's nothing more annoying than having two broken packs.
