Why should the empty can be disposed of in the waste bin?
It's made of sheet steel and could be recycled.

Hello @rohrspatz Since even empty spray cans still contain propellant gas and are under pressure, they cannot be accepted at the collection points for aluminum and/or sheet steel for safety reasons. Best regards Frederica

Dear rohrspatz, thank you for your question. Aerosol cans (e.g. cream cans) made of aluminum or tinplate deliberately display the waste bag logo for disposal, as they may not be placed in the aluminum collection point. The reason for this is that there is a slight risk of the can exploding at a higher temperature. It is not always possible for the consumer to completely spray out the cream can, leaving some residual gas in the can. These are the specifications of Swissrecycling.
