Hello everyone, a question. Is there anything similar to this spreadable frying butter in Migros? https://www.coop.ch/de/lebensmittel/milchprodukte-eier/butter-margarine/kochbutter-bratfett/faet-streubare-kakaobutter/p/4971646 Thank you, Dani

No, I think only Coop has it so far. Migros has "normal" frying butter: https://produkte.migros.ch/bratbutter-103045100000 https://produkte.migros.ch/bratbutter https://produkte.migros.ch/bio-aha-bratbutter I'd love it if Migros added a spreadable frying butter to its range.

I bought one some time ago, but I can't remember the product name. It is in the unrefrigerated fats in a round dark tin.
That sounds really cool!^^ There's something like that at Mirgos: https://migipedia.migros.ch/en/102795900000 The ingredient is exactly the same, 100% cocoa butter just in a different form.

Thank you for your answers. Maybe I'll have to try the alternative from Alnatura, although I find the powder form of the Coop product so useful.

The one I bought is in a shaker, it's also cocoa butter, but not from Alnatura. But I don't know if it's still available.
But I don't understand what it's about exactly? Is it about the cocoa butter or the powder form? Both? What's interesting about that? Ok, I can understand the aspect that you want to fry something in cocoa butter, I'll give it a try, but I've never heard of it like that before. Powder form, that becomes liquid directly in the pan. Is it about powdering meat with it and leaving it to infuse overnight or for days? Is that the main reason for the powder? Please clarify.

My primary use is for searing meat and fish. What I like about it is that it is applied directly to the food. It quickly forms a nice crust and there are no fat splashes even when frying hot.

Okay, thanks

Thanks for the info. I'm probably a bit old-fashioned, I still use oil or butter for frying. Maybe I should try this powder from Coop or the product from Alnatura. Is there a difference in taste?

I still have one of these tins lying around. It's from Le Chef Cooking and is called "Bratgut". Was "new" in Migros in July 2019. Barcode no. 7 613312 202470. The powder works great!
