What you are describing is not self-scanning but self-checkout and this is particularly intended for small purchases. So the staff did the right thing with their request 👌

I was talking about a self-scanning checkout, so it was clear what I meant and what it was about. Because I scan the items myself and am at a checkout. And no, it doesn't say anywhere that only a limited number of items are permitted.
Dear Mrs. Rumm, isn't it understandable that the employee asked you? On a Saturday when everyone wants to be gone immediately and even faster and preferably all at once, it's understandable that you want to keep these checkouts free for people who only have two or five items. I don't think so. I prefer this type of store. I also think that self-checkout should be used for smaller purchases and self-scanning for larger purchases, unless you don't have a Cumulus card.

I think self-scanning is good because I can put the goods away immediately and know my purchase amount in advance, have paid within minutes and don't block the storage space after the checkout until everything is put away.

There was no one at the express checkout that Saturday and imagine I can scan just as quickly as those at the checkout. Migros told me that you can of course use the express checkout. And by the way, nobody has to go to Migros on a Saturday if they only want to buy two things and there are too many people there.
