Dear Migros, it has happened to me 3 times now that the user interface of the self-scanner got stuck. I have noticed that it always happens when I scan an item and then use the plus button to increase the number of items. The last time it happened was with Havelaar limes and before that with yoghurt. Scanning still works and the items are displayed on the scanner but the soft buttons no longer work.

@napoleonmm83: I can only confirm these hangs, especially if you proceed a little quickly, for example, if I buy 6 milk bottles, the individual scanning is much faster - at least that's how I feel...
Then there's the fact that I usually have to change the number with "-" for these hangers (... and keep pressing) during the follow-up check, which delays everything again, because every downgrading by 1 has to be confirmed with "yes" (which then makes sense again from Migros' point of view ;-) - and somehow also shows the whole problem of the "scanner reaction").
With yoghurt (1 or 2) it is even more noticeable because "scanning on the go" is not possible at all.... either rescanning with 1 or 2.... or then with "+"... So here's a suggestion for yoghurts: sell either 1 or 2 packs only...

@Tabi_Migros I bought 2 of each of various yogurts today, had to tap the display at least twice each time because it didn't react properly and got stuck, i.e. I noticed it because I already wanted to scan the next one... simply a very sluggish system... It wouldn't be bad if you could at least hear a beep like with the normal scan. When scanning quickly, you just orient yourself to the sound.
After all, it's certainly in Migros' interest for customers to shop quickly... just think of the traffic jam in front of the yogurt rack that always occurs... also from cashiers who have to search for certain yogurts in the large selection ;-)

It is possible that the cooperatives have different scanners in operation. Let's stick with @marcotimit's example of the yogurts. I've never had a hanger and the yogurts are pushed hard because I buy eight to 12 tubs of the same variety. Furthermore, you hear this with every click.

Thanks for the input. I just checked and apparently there are two different versions of Subito scanners in use at the moment, with the older version gradually being replaced by new devices. Apparently there are problems with the older version from time to time.
@all: If you let me know where the Subito cash register is that you have had problems with, I can forward the details to those responsible and perhaps the problem can be addressed more specifically. What do you think?

@Tabi_Migros My observations also concern eastern Switzerland. I have never noticed any careless handling in this part of the country - but I have noticed that Subito is used quite frequently.
So I rather suspect wear and tear! Since the hangers are not to be found everywhere. Likewise, people don't always react in the same way - I don't want to exclude myself from this - if you are pressed or distracted (child in the shopping trolley seat, to the right of which is the scanner holder... ;-) )
The "hangs" are sometimes already at the scanner output, when you hear the beep, but nothing moves (no flashing light - which scanner is free) ... you then try again and get the answer that the scanner has already been output ... then wait almost 5 minutes and try again and then it goes....
I use the BC on the Cumulus-CC for this process and not a stick-on BC in my wallet, because the reaction is better (angle of incidence, completely flat) ... but that's another matter, because the beep doesn't react either.
@Frederica I assume: we also have new ones with only one scan button - the old ones had several buttons for the various functions and were probably a bit smaller.

The main difference between the old and new scanners is not only the more modern look of the devices, but that the new ones have touchscreens, while the old ones still had conventional buttons.
Just tell Tabi your branch so that she can find out what's wrong.

I have checked again and have the following additions: The following two devices are currently in use: The older MC17 device (with which the problems you have described occur) and the newer MC18 (which produces a corresponding sound when scanning).
The older devices are gradually being replaced by the new scanners (MC18) in consultation with the respective cooperatives (depending on possibilities).
