Black garlic

Schwarzer Knoblauch

Dear MIGROS

I have a product suggestion.

Do you know black garlic? This is garlic that is traditionally fermented in Spain. With this method, the garlic loses its pungency, its ability to "scent" the breath and its aggressiveness towards people who cannot tolerate garlic.

It also promotes all the healthy properties of garlic.

I have always bought this in specialist shops, but I could imagine that many other MIGROS customers would also be interested.

What would it be like to discuss the introduction of black garlic and possibly start a trial? Of course, it would have to be organic, as I suspect that customers from this sector would be particularly interested.

Thank you :)

Hello HirschiS

Thank you very much for your culinary suggestion.

I'll be happy to pass the idea on...

Have a nice day

Kathrin

Hello HirschiS

That sounds interesting. I've only ever tried smoked garlic, which I found disappointing. Good smell, but almost no smoky taste.

I would like to try the fermented one.

Greetings moz

If you are from Züruch, you can buy it in Altstetten in the organic food store(www.derbioladen.ch). It tastes a bit like balsamic vinegar with a slight hint of garlic. You can eat it as it is or cook with it like any other garlic.

Here is an article from Galileo:

Hello HirschiS

Our product manager has already replied and written to me:

We also know this product and have had it on sale several times. Unfortunately, awareness of this garlic is very low, so it remains a niche product and many customers don't know exactly what to do with it. For these reasons, sales were very low and a large proportion of the garlic could not be sold. So we decided to take it out of the range again - but that doesn't mean it will never come back.

So we have to be patient and maybe, with a bit of luck....

Kind regards, Kathrin

Maybe that would be something for Migusto...

Hi
I'm currently in Australia, where "black garlic" is used regularly - and I'm totally thrilled with the product! As has already been written, it is not as aggressive as fresh garlic, and the slight sweetness and acidity (somewhat reminiscent of tamarind!) even makes black garlic interesting for dessert dishes. I would definitely welcome a promotion for this apparently very healthy product!

Hello @derecha2

I have gladly forwarded your request to the responsible department!

At the moment, awareness of this product is still not very high. However, we will keep an eye on it and have made a note of your request

Have a nice day!

Best regards

Elena

Thank you, Elena. I always keep an eye on the "news", I will certainly notice if the product is ever introduced. (In the meantime, I have found out that it is available in Zurich from a well-known delicatessen ;-)).

Hello Migros team!
A bit of an excuse, about not being so well known....
YOU could change that. It's especially important today, when environmental toxins are endangering our health. Thank you!

Why don't you tryCoop? I'm sure they'll be more receptive to your product suggestion.

BTW: More and more people in my circle of acquaintances are switching to Coop. Why is that?
