weak performance: Coca Cola

schwache Leistung: Coca Cola

Migros is also selling the smaller bottles of cola (450 ml instead of 500 ml) at the same price and is not defending itself against the massive price increase and increased consumption of raw materials: "Migros always negotiates hard with its suppliers," says a customer advisor on the information line. So I'll drink Pepsi until they follow suit.

Oh, I may have misunderstood - I'm not 100% sure that Freeway Cola is only available in cans. At least that's the case at Fraumünsterpost-Lidl. Unfortunately I can't visit another branch at the moment. I seem to remember that I used to see 5-Dezi bottles in other branches (Regensdorf, Damenschwingen), but I don't know whether they are no longer there or just not in the middle of the city.

Hello @Nachtspalter,
Since even the manufacturer does not list a complete range on his site
https://www.meg-gruppe.de/unsere-produkte.html
you can probably only conclude that you haven't seen the 5 dl bottles for a while (or ask for them on the contact page or in the store).

I find the

https://produkte.migros.ch/m-budget-vanilla-cola

excellent. Unfortunately, you can only get them in the MMM store. Why only? I would definitely buy them regularly if I could find them near me (they are not available at LeShop either).

A cheaper alternative at Migros would be
https://produkte.migros.ch/pepsi
but even these are far from being available in every store. It's over 60 km from me to the nearest store where you can find them. So not even in the big MMM stores in the area.

Coop isn't much better either... Migros and Coop are trumpeting everywhere that they are campaigning for price reductions and for consumers. That may be true, but the money saved as a result probably disappears into the pockets of Coop and Migros, and customers don't notice a thing. A really poor performance. If Migros and Coop had actually thrown the 450ml PET bottles out of their range, Coca-Cola would certainly have folded and adjusted its prices, but... Better to take consumers for fools... I still only drink either Pepsi or the 330ml Coke Zero can, which was a bit cheaper than the 500ml PET bottle and is even cheaper than the 450ml PET bottle... Otherwise you can still get 500ml PET bottles of normal Coke and Coke Zero at Aldi for CHF 1.29. No wonder Migros and Coop are losing market share and Aldi and Lidl are increasing theirs...

it's a pity the denner no longer has imported 5dl bottles!

since the price increase, i have consistently avoided coca cola and always buy an alternative product.

Yes, it's a real shame that Denner and Aldi no longer have 0.5 l bottles... It looks like they've run out of stock and/or there are no more 0.5 l bottles... I now avoid Coca-Cola too, I only buy the 0.33 l Coke Zero cans from time to time or the Coke Zero Lemon, otherwise I just buy Pepsi, it tastes the same to me

There are still 500 ml bottles available in Germany at the moment...

afaik is a "fart" from Coca Cola Switzerland the story with the smaller bottles....

As many customers as possible would simply have to boycott the whole thing.
But if you look at it this way, the majority of customers don't give a damn, or don't even notice that the bottles have become smaller - and Coca Cola's bill (unfortunately) works out....

Yes, actually as many customers as possible should boycott Coca Cola as well as Coop, Migros, Lidl, Aldi etc., then Coca Cola would probably give in. Unfortunately, nothing happens that way... Unfortunately, the majority of customers don't care at all or haven't yet realized that the bottles have become smaller and the price has remained the same...

yes, that's exactly the problem!

the swiss customer is absolutely lazy and lazy - he is used to paying high prices for everything. this is not specifically limited to migros, on the contrary. be it telephone/mobile/internet, hotels/restaurants or anything else on which money is spent.

the swiss customer complains a lot - but it doesn't change his behavior. coca cola certainly had a slump in sales, i bet after 2-3 months they will be in the black.

if the swiss customer were more active here and changed his consumption behavior, then the consumer would have power over the suppliers. the fact that this works much better abroad can be seen very well in many places.

apart from that, the question arises as to whether it makes economic sense to mix and bottle coca cola in switzerland - the question can only be answered in the affirmative, the reason for this is the absorption of purchasing power and the supposed monopoly, or import problems from abroad.

for those who are now talking about jobs: well, we don't make TVs, cars (mass-produced vehicles...) or cell phones either - or who would pay the price for them? cola is a product with no actual added value for the end customer - or does it taste better in switzerland because it costs more?
