Scanning with your cell phone

Scannen mit dem Natel/Handy

Guest

Hello everyone
I'm very impressed with self-scanning, as it saves me a lot of time. But what I don't understand is that Migros doesn't yet allow you to scan directly with the M app. That would solve a few problems: 1. it's not tedious to handle two devices if you already have the shopping list on your phone anyway. 2. at the checkout I scan my Cumulus barcode and pay with the mobile payment card, all in one step (that would be my second concern, that I don't have to scan twice...).
But the freedom of Coop, going to the store with your cell phone, shopping and scanning with your cell phone and paying at the payment terminal (Twint) with your cell phone - uncomplicated and very easy to handle.

So, why don't you take a step and introduce scanning with your cell phone - a large number of digital natives would be grateful.

Good morning @thunomania

Thank you for your great feedback.

I will be happy to pass it on to the relevant department.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether it will be possible to implement it.

Best regards

Just read on srf.ch: Migros wants to test a new system this year. Customers will be able to scan products with their smartphone and pay directly. This will eliminate the need to go to the self-service checkout.

I find the idea interesting. But I wonder whether scanning with your own cell phone will work just as easily as with the Migros scanners. In any case, we already lack a cell phone holder on the shopping cart. :-)

Sure, it's been working perfectly at Coop for ages. Migros takes it easy 😉

that's exactly how I see it. My article was written three years ago - Coop was already doing a lot of "business" with cell phone scanning. But it looks like things are really picking up. As far as I've heard, there's a branch in Thun with the cell phone scan test. I'm curious to see how long it will take until it's possible in all stores. In the meantime, Migros has made such progress with the home delivery service (and that's great, dear @Cumulus-Infoline) that I'm rarely seen in the store anymore. Nevertheless, technical integration and thus even easier shopping is a sign of customer interest. Basically: keep up the good work, dear Migros

I will only shop with Migros self-scanning because I believe that the seller has to provide the infrastructure, and with cell phones it is not because I would never use the unsecured Migros WLAN and mobile data reception there is poor to impossible. If self-scanning were abolished, I would immediately switch to self-checkout - no matter how many items are in my shopping cart.

Now it's up and running and is called SubitoGO... Migros started about 2 months ago with 4 branches and today there are 31 locations, unfortunately none in BL or BS ... :-( Here is an overview: https://filialen.migros.ch/de/filter:market_services-market-service-mig_subgo/center:46.8182,8.2275/zoom:8/ and in the app it is already visible as a separate item "GO" and on the website it is also visible: https://www.migros.ch/de/services/zahlungsmoeglichkeiten/subito.html#heading-subitogo

Hello, I think it's a great idea. It would be much easier if you could do everything in one place and not have to jump back and forth between devices. I think the Coop solutions are better, especially in the self-checkout area!

Hi, I think the idea itself is really great. It would be best if you didn't have to switch back and forth between the different programs/devices. So that there is a system that you can use for this. Sebi

The idea is good, I often use it at Coop. But eastern Switzerland has probably been completely forgotten...

I completely agree with you Thunomania.
