The Sacher Cake in the practical cardboard packaging was always worth a sin! What a shame that it has been taken out of the range! I haven't even found such a good Sacher Cake in a well-known patisserie since then. Please bring it back into the range or at least give me the recipe:-)

No, there's a reason why we miss the other Sachercake in the box. You can write Séléction on it, but that doesn't make it any better. It's also interesting that these items were supposedly taken out of the range due to low demand, but as far as I can remember they were often sold out and you were lucky if you managed to get one.

I completely agree with you... For me, Selection doesn't mean that it's better or more exquisite, in some cases I find the "normal" goods at Migros much better than Selection products; it just means that you can make more money with it, because many customers think that if it says Selection on it, it must be something special or exquisite, for me it's a pure marketing gimmick (Selection products are often found in the bottom ranks in the Kassensturz test and as far as I can remember never or very rarely test winners; that's saying something...). I'd rather go to a restaurant/coffee house that offers Viennese specialties and treat myself to a real Sacher Torte or one or two pieces of cake.

I have been informed by our product managers that there are currently no plans to reintroduce Sacher Cake to the range.
However, we will look into this option again at a later date.

And? Could you check that again? 😜 The Sachercake was really phenomenal! When I finally lived on my own and no longer had to look after the family, I ate a pack in one go on my own😛

Every now and then there's a frozen Sachertorte in Lidl, but I have no idea what it's like
That's right, Lidl sometimes has a Sachertorte when it's a special country promotion week. I'm not a big fan of frozen cakes and tarts, so I can't say how it tastes. But the products from and at Lidl are usually all good; I've never had anything to complain about. Some of them are even better than the competition. True to the motto "the proof of the pudding is in the eating", try them out next time ;-)
