Dear Migros, I would think it would be great if Mitgros were to include A&W's root beer in its range. Or otherwise adopt the taste of this drink in a new Migros product.
Best regards

Dear Tanja
The taste is somehow indescribable, a kind of non-alcoholic herbal beer? :-)
I don't like the taste of beer at all, but root beer does.
It's carbonated and has the consistency of a beer. The color looks like cola. It is made from a rubber plant.
Root beer is very, very popular in the USA. I even discovered the drink in the Coop a few weeks ago. Since I'm a Migros kid :) I think it would be great if Migros sold something like this.

Hello Tanja,
I got to know "Root Beer" in Quebec where it was offered under this name with a slight alcohol content (2.5%)
The non-alcoholic North American drink was called "Racinette" or "Racinette1" in French Canada and smelled of vanilla and liquorice. Perfumed with fennel wood or clove cinnamon tree bark or nutmeg, depending on the variety, and sweetened with molasses, corn syrup, sucrose or aspartame. Most of the drinks were non-alcoholic "racinettes", i.e. soda water.
The aroma is difficult to define: "musty, like stale mineral water".

I've been a big fan of root beer ever since I first drank it in America years ago. I really missed it. Coop has had some for a while now, but I would prefer to buy it at Migro. I know a few people, mainly Americans or American fans, who wish they could have a cold root beer every now and then. There are different brands, but in Europe I've only had A&W so far. The taste is something quite unique. They say that you either hate root beer with your first sip or you will always love it. A&W is alcohol-free and tastes like a cola, mixed with various herbs and a fine vanilla flavor finish.

A super tasty option that is also very popular in diners in the USA: Root beer float = root beer in a glass with a scoop of vanilla ice cream inside. Even though I don't like root beer to drink, I really liked the float. It gives it a caramel note. Definitely give it a try for those who don't know this yet ;-)
