Until now, Migros Lucerne has been selling products whose last day of sale according to the "to be sold by" date has begun, first with a 25% reduction and then later in the afternoon with a 50% reduction. As Migros has an additional "to be used by" date, I have bought such products from time to time, as they are still good tomorrow.
At Coop, the "on sale until" and "use by" dates are identical, which is why I rarely buy these products at a reduced price, as I usually already have a menu plan for today. But now the staff are saying that Migros won't give more than a 33% reduction on expiring goods. Half price, a third less will have to do. Good for sales, bad for food waste. Because I'm not the only one who will leave these products there. If I'm hardly saving anything, I'd rather buy the fresh produce. The promising sound of "half price" should not be underestimated, dear Migros. You could see that the goods were disappearing, but why was it decided that way? I think it would make sense, especially today, to curb food waste with the 50% sale. Migros is sending out completely the wrong message here. Thank you in advance for your reply!
