Customers who use theCumulus card can view their receipts online for years. So why do they need paper receipts?
I buy something twice a day at Migros and each receipt is about 15cm, so 30cm of receipt per day and on 250 (shopping) days this makes 75m per person per year. For 2.17 million Cumulus customers (2015 annual report), that's 162,750km of paper per customer per year. Approx. 12.70 times around the world. All for the trash. Is that necessary? (We haven't even considered the costs here)
Can't you make it so that the "receipt-free" mode is activated by an option in the app or on the Internet or by scanning a QR code? Or better, that all Cumulus users don't get a receipt and those who want one have to activate the option or are asked at the checkout whether they want a receipt (then click a button at self-checkout).

Select the receipts in Cumulus (15 months are available) and view them as a PDF file and search for the item with "Search in document" or open and/or save them as an Excel file (csv). They can then be sorted and further processed as required.
I saved all the receipts and quickly (less than a minute) searched for Nivea and here is the result!

Thank you for your tip. That's exactly how I've done it so far. But it is very tedious.
Example: I knew that I once bought a life jacket 1 year ago (there was a recall). Now it is very difficult to find this. The whole year cannot be downloaded as a CSV file (only the current selection of a few receipts, not all 15 months at a time) and I would have to know approximately in which period this was. Searching through a whole year in this way takes much longer than just entering the search term in a search field and the corresponding receipt is displayed.
I only see this as an emergency solution, but thank you for your tip! ?
Usually a warranty is for at least 24 months, why this is limited to 15 months is not exactly understandable. Especially if I want to check whether a warranty is still valid.
So my wish still remains...

Years have already passed. Have I overlooked the fact that Migros is one step ahead here? Surely it should be possible to choose to print the receipt during self-scanning. THAT WORKS in many other stores too!

I think Migros' solution is somehow not well implemented. How many hundreds of thousands of receipts are printed unnecessarily every day? There are also an increasing number of customers who no longer want loyalty cards or many older customers who simply don't want or have no idea about digital services. At Coop, receipts are only printed on request, and the same could be done at the checkout. Automatic printouts should actually be banned, but they'd rather ban plastic tubes....

...and promises not to organize plastic collection manias, only to hand out plastic figurines again on the occasion of a sporting event.

Hello Bascolo Thank you for your question. We are aware that many customers would like to be able to do without the physical receipt even without Cumulus. We have already made this request and I hope that we will be able to offer this in the future. Unfortunately, I cannot promise if and when this will happen. Kind regards, Marc
