Has anyone else noticed that the new Lindt products added to the range all come from abroad? I was delighted to buy a few different products only to discover that they taste awful. When I looked on the packaging, it said they were imported by a company in the Netherlands. Parallel import? I can happily do without that... It just doesn't taste like the products that are produced for Switzerland.

I am an "addicted" chocolate eater and don't understand the strategy with Lindt anyway, because in my opinion the chocolate from Frey tastes excellent. If I now hear that it is imported chocolate, I will GUARANTEEDLY NEVER buy it!

I also think that it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with where it was produced. I mean look at your everyday use of food and activities. Not much is produced locally. Globalization is the key word. Whether it's your cell phone, your car, your breakfast, fruit and vegetables or whatever. It's traded among each other and that's not a bad thing in principle. I have to say that I really like Lindt products. And I don't care where something comes from. Kind regards, Tobias

Yes, unfortunately that's the case. Personally, I don't like Lindt anyway (except for the wafer-thin dark chocolate flakes). I don't understand why Migros has to offer Lindt now too... It's already available everywhere else.

I also noticed that in the store where I often go shopping, the Lindt chocolate comes from Lindt in Germany (= manufacturer). When I do buy Lindt, I only buy the "original" from Switzerland. Usually directly from Lindt in the Lindt Factory Outlet Kilchberg Migros buys the Lindt chocolate abroad at a lower price than here in Switzerland and then sells it at the "normal" Swiss price; Migros pockets the profit. This is also a way to generate sales...

Thanks for the confirmation. I have since seen that the Lindor balls are from the Netherlands and the chocolate bars are from Austria. Exactly. I vaguely remember a parallel import story with Coca Cola. But I can't remember whether it was Denner or Migros at the time. Although both are Migros... It's a shame that there's no other way.

Of course, if the goods were actually exported to the Netherlands once and then carted back to Switzerland, I'm totally with you on the ecological aspect. I was somehow still hoping that the chocolate may never have left Switzerland and that the deal only took place on paper. That's why I focus on the taste: when I buy a Lindor ball in Switzerland, I expect the original Lindor taste. If I see a Lindor ball in Germany, I don't buy it because I know it doesn't taste good.
