Hello everyone. I'm a fan of Pepsi and am happy when I find the 0.5 l bottle or even better the cans in the refrigerated section. Unfortunately, this is very rare and if I want exactly that, I have to go to the SihlPost branch at Zurich main station where they have them, in this case the one with cherry. Why does Coca Cola have such power? Dear Migros, why is that? Greetings

Demand mainly determines supply. I'll ask the drinks department what they can say about the presence of Coca Cola. Can you please tell me in which store you miss Pepsi in the refrigerated section? Then I'll be happy to pass your request on to the cooperative responsible. Perhaps something can be done about it.

I would be delighted if Pepsi bottles / cans were offered in the chiller cabinet.
Especially in view of the fact that Coke is ripping off Swiss customers, it would be nice to have an alternative in the chiller cabinet.

There are quite a few branches in the city of Zurich, from Seebach to Brunaupark. I think Tamara needs to be a little more specific...

As each store decides for itself how much of what is offered chilled, we inform the stores concerned directly about your request. Hello, the problem is defined differently, since I travel a lot in Switzerland, there is no specific branch, but where I am often is Metalli Zug, there is no Pepsi in the refrigerated shelf. Or the big Migros in Zurich HB has no Pepsi only the small one at the SihlPost and only the one with cherry, as far as I have seen....
Most (small/smaller) Migros stores here in the city of Zurich have no Pepsi (neither 0.33 cans nor 0.5 Pet bottles) in the chiller cabinet (Coca-Cola clearly dominates). The larger stores - e.g. Migros Brunaupark and Migros Airport Zurich (both MM) - have both Pepsi-Pet bottles and Pepsi cans in the chiller cabinet. I suppose it depends very much on the store (the size of the store, and possibly also the store manager) whether it has Pepsi in the chiller cabinet or not.
I also very much regret that Coca-Cola is so dominant in Migros stores, especially in the refrigerated section, especially since the price increase (smaller 0.45-pet bottles are the same price as 0.5-pet bottles), which in my opinion is totally customer-unfriendly. However, I do understand that the Migros stores - especially the small/smaller stores for reasons of space - are guided by customer wishes; the respective stores can see from the sales figures what is more profitable and what is not, and that seems to be Coca-Cola. After all, Migros is also interested in selling what is profitable, Migros also wants to earn something...
What I find very unfortunate is that Denner doesn't sell any Pepsi at all (neither cans nor bottles); they only sell Coca-Cola and all the other drinks marketed by this company...
What I also noticed last time when I was in the Migros branch at Zurich airport (but not only Migros): Coca-Cola seems to be pursuing a new sales strategy; somehow I can't shake off the feeling that Coca-Cola is trying by all means to make it difficult for consumers to make a simple price comparison, and of course to increase sales as much as possible and by all means. Recently, there are not only 0.25 l, 0.33 l, 0.45 l, 1 l and 2 l cans/bottles of Coca-Cola (Coop, Migros, Denner, Lidl, Aldi), but also 0.75 l (Migros Airport Zurich) and 1.25 l (Aldi)... I once asked Coca-Cola what the point of all these variants was. The answer was - oh wonder - that it was in line with customer demand.
Even if I find it regrettable that Migros, Coop, Denner, Lidl, Aldi etc. Coca-Cola because of the overpriced prices (at the latest since the expensive 0.45 l Pet bottles), I have to say that it is also down to the (lazy) consumers; the consumers would actually have it in their hands, because if, for example If, for example, everyone only bought Pepsi products (or MBudget Cola or Lidl/Aldi's own brands etc.) instead of Coca-Cola, then Migros, Coop and Co. would certainly start to put pressure on Coca-Cola because of the prices, because then they would lose this turnover, which would certainly have an impact on the balance sheet/profit. But as long as consumers who are lazy about switching remain loyal to Coca-Cola, nothing will change in this respect... Unfortunately... You can also see this with health insurance/deductibles; the savings potential is huge, but so many don't switch...

When Migros added Pepsi to its range about 20 years ago, it was communicated that it would henceforth be the only retailer in Switzerland to sell this brand. I don't know whether this is still the case, but it would explain why Denner doesn't stock Pepsi. Perhaps Migipedia or M-Infoline can clarify this.
As far as I know, not only have the 5-deciliter bottles at Coca-Cola been replaced by 4.5-deciliter bottles, but the 1-liter bottles have been replaced by 0.75-liter bottles. So if you still come across 1-liter bottles, these are probably leftovers.
