Hey dear Migglers!
Has anyone read the article about the supermarket (D) where everything is sold loose and open (like in the old days)? It's an interesting concept and hard to beat in terms of sustainability. Probably a utopia for the big supermarket chains.

Yes, that's a great (old) concept - I would also think it would be great if big chains like Migros would "follow suit" - there are already many things like fruit and vegetables, bread, cheese and meat from the counter and eggs in Migros, where you can/could already practice this and shop in this way. Perhaps it would also be possible to offer a few pasta products, oatmeal, coffee and milk in this way and try it out (in a few test stores)? It would also fit perfectly into the "Generation M" concept.

At Villar's the coffee was packed in bags and at the grocer's there was a Scarnutz. Unfortunately, I can't remember how the pickled gherkins from the barrel that we bought at the Italian restaurant found their way home. Perhaps in glassine paper?

I have clarified whether it is possible to bring your own containers and have them filled. For reasons of hygiene, sales staff are not permitted to fill Tupperware or other containers that you have brought with you. This applies, for example, to staffed cheese or meat counters. However, it is possible, for example, to weigh bananas or apples loose and then put them in a suitable container. This should also be possible for eggs.
Migros regularly examines alternative solutions to the current concepts. Perhaps a new concept will soon be introduced in the stores.

That should be changed immediately. It can't be right that so much packaging material is wasted.
No, I haven't read the article. But I always find it funny when customers dispose of the box of cornflakes in the store immediately after the checkout. In my eyes, these customers are a bit of a revolutionary, Migros won't budge and so these customers have found their own solution. They also don't seem to mind that the flakes are "slightly" crushed in the shopping bag.
If I could, I would refill the iced tea in the store in glass bottles and leave the stupid new TetraPaks in the store. They fill up the bin faster than I'd like.
