I really like the M-Classic ice cream cups, such as Japonais, but I get annoyed every time I open them - the lid is so firmly attached to the cup at two points that you literally have to tear it apart!
Could this be improved, e.g. with a foil under the lid? Thank you very much!
Yes, a tedious gnarling every time. It didn't used to be like this. These cups have been around since I was a child (so over 30 years) and when they were easier to open, the ice cream wasn't any worse. But apparently the packaging industry always has to tinker with something so that they have something to "improve" again. Purely a job creation measure at the expense of the customer...
I think it's about not having to put foil over the ice cream and being able to guarantee that everything is hygienically closed.

exactly. i get annoyed every time too. something really needs to be improved. if you're unlucky and finally open the lid, the nuts are scattered everywhere. :-(
Yup, I was annoyed about that a long time ago when I bought a small vanilla Leger becherli. Oh and recently also with the small Fior di Latte raspberry from Creme d'Or and when you open it there are two small blue plastic pieces on the ice cream :-( or as others have already written the lid is totally torn and I have already cut my finger on the sharp edges :-x

When you look at how often Migros introduces new products (and unfortunately lets some good ones disappear), it's hard to believe that the development of a simple cup or cup lid has to wait so long.

Unfortunately, it has indeed turned out that the problem with the packaging is not so easy to solve. Fixing it will require adjustments to the production process, which will involve quite a lot of work.
I can't tell you exactly when the new packaging will arrive, but I can assure you that we are working on it.

Where did they sell the old machines that produced the cups in perfect quality for years? How much did the packaging engineers pocket for their ingenious "improvement"? Who is going to pay for the "considerable expense" of the new changeover? Questions upon questions.
In any case, I'm fed up with the gagging and have decided that the cups I bought last week will be the last until I read a report here that the cups are easy to open again. You should actually do this consistently with all idiotically "improved" packaging, but you run the risk of starving to death. Fortunately, there's water from the tap :)
