I am always annoyed that new products are not available in my store (Muri/AG). The most recent examples are Filetto (dried pork kidney), Le bien cuit (new Création bread), Annabelle potatoes and Aproz Thé. As a result, you couldn't even redeem the discount vouchers for the latter. It is really striking that this branch seems to have no interest in new products announced in the Migros magazine. It's a shame really, because everything else in this store is just right.

The fact that new products are not available even in medium-sized stores is more the rule than the exception. The best current example: the new Ratatouille Chüechli and Finizza TexMex products advertised in M magazine with 20x Cumulus. I would love to try both, but in my region they are only available in the biggest shopping centers that are far from the beaten track. Not even the Marktgasse branch of MMM in the city of Bern stocks these products. I wonder what those responsible are thinking, because frozen products in particular cannot be sent on an arbitrarily long journey home. For urban customers without a car, such products are inaccessible, so much for Generation M, sustainability and so on... Oh, I forgot: environmentally conscious customers who only go shopping by bike or public transport don't consume any convenience products ;)

It's annoying that new products are announced in the Migros magazine that you can't find in your stores afterwards. I can well understand that. Basically, the store on Marktgasse in Berne is one of the larger stores. However, due to the limited space available in the old town, it is not possible to stock the full range in all areas. Unfortunately, the frozen food section is one of the areas where this is not possible. The new Ratatouille Chüechli and Finizza Tex Mex are therefore only available in the very large branches.
I am now approaching the people responsible at Migros Magazine to ask them whether it makes sense to announce such products in Migros Magazine.

I've often had exactly this problem :-(. e.g. with the Irish Cream Glace from Creme d'Or, or just last week again with the SunQueen grapefruit slices in a can. I first went to Clara Markt (MMM Migros) and then to M-Parc Dreispitz (MMM Migros) and couldn't find anything in either place. In the end I gave my mother, who was shopping in the canton of BL Schöntal Migros (I think only MM Migros), the order to look for them. And lo and behold, they had them. But I can't ask my mother to organize things for me every time and not for everything. You can't drive certain things around the world until you cool them down at home, so it's better not to advertise in the M magazine and then just have a New sign on the shelf in the store, and if it's not there in one store or another then it simply isn't there. Otherwise you walk around and get annoyed that you can't find the things that are advertised as new.
At least I no longer have to run around in vain looking for a particular product now that there is an online availability check, which I have wanted for a long time. However, I find it really weak that not a single store in the whole city of Bern (where most customers live) can include the new products in its range, especially as popular products keep disappearing, particularly from the frozen food shelves...
Shopping at Migros has become a planning challenge. I find some products in M Gümligen that MM Freudenberg doesn't stock and vice versa. For special requests, I drive to the center anyway, but then have to run to MM Bahnhof or M Christoffel in addition to MMM Marktgasse, while individual products such as the Alnatura range are only available in small neighborhood branches and not in the city center. I have no idea what market strategy is behind this, but for me it is incomprehensible and time-consuming.

Migrosmagazin is currently probably the most effective channel for announcing and advertising new products. And that's the way it should be. The problem lies with the medium-sized and small stores, which are hardly able or willing to present and offer this flood of new products, mainly due to lack of space. Which makes me, as a customer, feel a bit skewed: In my store in Muri/AG, the same sweets and chocolate items have been in the novelty rack for ages. They are hardly ever bought. That's annoying.
The new Migros magazine announces on page 30 how Migros can use new, extended data protection regulations to draw customers' attention even more effectively to articles that are of interest to them. It is foreseeable that a large proportion of these customers will hardly be able to make use of this offer because their store does not stock the items. They would then have to drive halfway across the canton - as I often have to do - to find what they are looking for at a large store. In my case, these are Steinhausen and Sursee. The people in charge should give some thought to the subject of "novelties".

I was also disappointed that I couldn't find the canned vegetable ravioli in Zollikofen. After seeing the colorful pictures, one is "gluschtig" and then has to shop strategically. Unsatisfactory for human nature.

The ratatouille chüechli mentioned above did find their way into Bern's city center after all (MMM Marktgasse) and I was able to get some in action today. I'm already very excited and looking forward to tasting them :)

In my small FIliale (where I live) there is e.g. the cream for cooking not in the assortment, but as Example 10 cream varieties. As the cream competes with Rama for cooking, the neighboring Denner has Rama in its range.
There is only 1 type of cream in a 4-pack, but 2 types in a 500ml container. This means that the cream has to be eaten quickly.
The UHT range is so large that x products are sometimes 10 rows big, but 250ml Vaflora milk small is not listed in the range.
I get the butter and the cheaper butter in the store, but I don't get the M-Budget butter. Although it would be 35 centimes cheaper.
Or the ice tea unsweetened, which I have harshly criticized, is not included in the small Migros range, even though it doesn't need 8 rows of ice tea.
The main problem is that more and more M-Budget products are no longer available in small Migros and are forced to go to a large branch.
Last but not least, smaller stores hardly get any new products in their assortment, so they have to go to 2 or 3MMM stores.
Of course, it is difficult to meet everyone's taste. To find the right range for every customer... But if you look at the competition around Switzerland, the range in some of the smaller stores is significantly larger than that of a small Migros store.
In my opinion, all 1M stores (regardless of the m2) should carry the same range, 2M the same range and so on.
This would also reduce costs for Migros
