I think it's a shame that organic milk is packaged differently. What is the reason for this?

At least you could return the PE bottles for recycling, Tetrapack is disposable. I'll probably have to switch to a different product. But it will be difficult, the criteria are organic, past, recyclable packaging. Dear Migros, use glass!
And I think the new Tetra packaging is better than the plastic bottles. They're also easier to stack in the cupboard because they're square. The bottles often slipped down, but I don't know which is more ecological. But I don't think there will be a huge difference. The most ecological thing would probably still be not to drink any milk at all.
Hello everyone, thank you very much for your contributions. I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the changeover. I would like to inform you about the reasons for the change to "Tetra Edge": With the current recycling system, there is no significant difference in the environmental impact between the beverage carton and the PE bottle. This is despite the fact that the beverage carton is currently not (yet) recyclable and must therefore be disposed of with household waste. There is a solid public study on this, which I am happy to send you with the following link: https://www.bafu.admin.ch/bafu/de/home/themen/abfall/mitteilungen.msg-id-54391.html. If beverage cartons are collected and recycled at a high rate throughout Switzerland in the future, the environmental impact of beverage cartons will be significantly lower than that of PE bottles. As we are assuming this future scenario, we have invested accordingly in such a packaging system so that we can reduce the ecological value in future. I hope this information helps you. Best regards, Tabea
Um, what are you always talking about disposing of Tetra in the trash, they are also collected and at least some of them are recycled, um...? Why does Migros advise you to throw them away? https://mr-green.ch/blogs/wertstoffe/getrankekartons?utm_source=google&utm_medium=search&utm_campaign=subscriptions&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtrSLBhCLARIsACh6RmgxbmB1pPz3nV2B7poC5jHAN1Lq_IpdoEwmiazHeRauVu7-KCbF4KMaAh97EALw_wcB
Hi Bodenseeknusperli, thanks for your tip 😊. You can't yet recycle the drinks packaging in the stores. Best regards, Sarah
Dear Bear3012! That's a good tip. It bothers me too. I'm one of those people who don't dispose of Tetras separately (shame on me). And returning a bottle is part of everyday life. That's probably the case for many people. What about Migros taking back Tetra bottles? Is that an issue?

"should it come to the point in future that beverage cartons are collected at a high rate throughout Switzerland"..... should.... dear M-Infoline: and if not?? is something being planned that Migros will offer to be a collection point? Otherwise I don't see any realistic chance. At least in the country....

Hello Schlaunzi Migros is currently unable to offer the return of drinks cartons or Tetra Paks for various reasons: Recycling drinks cartons has little additional environmental benefit and leads to very high additional costs. Beverage cartons are also often not resealable, which can lead to hygiene problems and unpleasant odors in stores and distribution centers. For these reasons, there are currently no plans to collect drinks cartons in Migros stores, but Migros does not categorically reject the collection of drinks cartons. It is constantly examining whether the infrastructural, technical and financial hurdles can be overcome, whether the ecological balance can be improved and whether there is a strong customer demand. All these conditions are central to the introduction of a voluntary collection of drinks cartons. @Bodenseeknusperli: Some local collection points take back such packaging, you're right. Kind regards, Angela

Thank you m-infoline. Understandable. Nevertheless, it's a shame that the bottles simply disappear even though people are aware of the problem (and still a long way away from Tetra recycling). That way, more waste is created again
... and suddenly the old packaging is back. So, dear Migros, did you sell fewer TetraPaks and therefore switch back? I'm definitely glad that I can return the bottles.
