New scanners to chase away older customers

Neue Scanner zum Verjagen der älteren Kundschaft

Hello,

Today I originally wanted to do some bulk shopping at Migros, but it didn't work out. Now I don't even have any bread at home...

Reason: the new scanners. I asked the staff twice for help, which I received in a very friendly and helpful manner, but after more than 3 hours of futile practice with this absurdity, I was so exhausted that I finally put all but a few of my purchases back on the shelves, deleted them from the scanner and finally went to a staffed checkout with a few small items. I've been told that I'm far from the only one who has given up shopping with these new scanners.

As long as you only buy a few items, it's perfectly feasible, but from about 5-6 different products, nothing works at all. The arrows with which you used to be able to scroll through the list from top to bottom and back again have been abolished, and now you have to move the list up and down virtually by hand...

If you now have to go back to the staffed tills as soon as you have more than a strict minimum of purchases, you're better off at Aldi: there, the sales assistants at the till put the items back into your cart and you can then repack them directly into your own trolley at your leisure.

I think I've had enough of shopping at Migros for this week ? In future I will buy as much as I can fit on the screen and no more.

I hope I'll find out here if the new scanners are changed after all.
