Hello Migipedia team, if I remember correctly, you used to have Nashi pears in your range (Asian pears). Unfortunately, I have not seen these any more. Will they be available again, and if so, when would they be in season?
Many thanks and best regards

Don't feel sorry for me, I completely agree with you. I buy pears very often, local ones of course. I got to know the Nashi from a colleague who brought them back from Italy and they taste just great. Totally juicy and ideal for "so-eating". As I know that this variety also grows easily in Switzerland and that they are also grown here, it would be nice for Migros to offer them. It would be an enrichment for the range and not a competitor, as not many farmers grow Nashi as far as I know. It's a pity, we would have ideal conditions here in Seeland...

My friend has a nashi tree in the allotment next door...unfortunately it doesn't bear enough fruit for her to pass it on. According to Google, there are fruit growers who grow them, but I don't know to what extent. I hope Migros will/can include them in their range..@bodenseeknusperli, then definitely try them :-))
Unfortunately, as you can see, there aren't many growers yet....If this variety were added to the range, that would change quickly....
Hello @submarine07
I have asked the product managers. Experience has shown that such "Asian specialties" are usually less popular in Europe. However, the product managers are happy to accept your request, will continue to monitor developments and will be happy to review the inclusion in the range at a later date. Until then, I hope that you will find a great alternative in our pear range. Kind regards, Nicole
Hello@Nicole_Migros
But it was also because of the price: when Migipedia was born, not because of them, the apple-shaped, yellow-brown/bronze "Kosui" Nashi was available for Sfr. 1.50 each. A kilo of Kaiser Alexander cost Sfr. 3.20 at that time.
Best regards
Frederica
What a pity! They were always sold out very quickly, so...no demand? And as they are now cultivated in Switzerland, there is no need to import them.
Thanks for the feedback anyway. Best regards, submarine07
As the "Poire à Botzi" does not keep for long and is a regional product, it would not find its way to Eastern Switzerland, but then perhaps to me, as "De la région" from the Neuchâtel-Fribourg coopérative. ?
Hello@Bodenseeknusperli
Thank you for your message. I like your idea. I will be happy to forward it to the product managers and get back to you as soon as I have received feedback. I wish you and @Frederica a great Friday! Best regards, Nicole
Hello @Bodenseeknusperli
The person responsible for pears told me the following: "Different pears are stocked in each region, in addition to the national range. Depending on the period, different pears are also available. However, the focus is clearly on the better-known varieties such as Kaiser Alexander, Conférence and Abate Fetel, which are very popular and in high demand. On a national level, however, implementation is difficult - simply because of the quantities available."
The best thing to do next time you go to the store is to ask which pears are also stocked in your region.
Have a nice afternoon. Best regards, Nicole
