Hello Migipedia team, if I remember correctly, you used to have Nashi pears in your range (Asian pears). Unfortunately, I have not seen these any more. Will they be available again, and if so, when would they be in season?

Don't feel sorry for me, I completely agree with you. I buy pears very often, local ones of course. I got to know the Nashi from a colleague who brought them back from Italy and they taste just great. Totally juicy and ideal for "so-eating". As I know that this variety also grows easily in Switzerland and that they are also grown here, it would be nice for Migros to offer them. It would be an enrichment for the range and not a competitor, as not many farmers grow Nashi as far as I know. It's a pity, we would have ideal conditions here in Seeland...
My friend has a nashi tree in the allotment next door...unfortunately it doesn't bear enough fruit for her to pass it on. According to Google, there are fruit growers who grow them, but I don't know to what extent. I hope Migros will/can include them in their range..@bodenseeknusperli, then definitely try them :-))
Unfortunately, as you can see, there aren't many growers yet....If this variety were added to the range, that would change quickly....

I have asked the product managers. Experience has shown that such "Asian specialties" are usually less popular in Europe. However, the product managers are happy to accept your request, will continue to monitor developments and will be happy to review the inclusion in the range at a later date. But it was also because of the price: when Migipedia was born, not because of them, the apple-shaped, yellow-brown/bronze "Kosui" Nashi was available for Sfr. 1.50 each. A kilo of Kaiser Alexander cost Sfr. 3.20 at that time.

The best thing to do next time you go to the store is to ask which pears are also stocked in your region.
