Hello, I haven't been able to find Nala dry cat food on the shelves for some time now. Have the products definitely been removed from the range or are they simply not available at the moment (perhaps because of the Covid situation)? If the former, will they be replaced with a similar brand in the future? MfG, FmK

Hello FamilyWithCats, thank you for your contribution. We still offer the following Nala products - you can find them in the larger Migros stores. https://produkte.migros.ch/adult-kalb https://produkte.migros.ch/junior-huhn https://produkte.migros.ch/adult-7-rind https://produkte.migros.ch/adult-truthahn https://produkte.migros.ch/adult-lachs Kind regards, Luisa

Thank you very much for your reply... Unfortunately, this does not answer my questions: 1. have the products "Nala TROCKENFUTTER" been removed from the range? 2. if so, do you intend to replace them? (it was the only product with a high meat content without grain in your range) Best regards, FmK

Hello FamilyWithCats, thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that the answer didn't answer your question - I immediately asked the animal department again about the exact status of the Nala dry food. It is true that we no longer offer some Nala products in the dry food range. I am happy to inform you that we are planning to replace them. However, it is not yet possible for us to provide any further information. Kind regards, Luisa

I was just in Migros and noticed that the high-quality Nala wet cat food is no longer on the shelves. Is it out of the range? Then Migros is making a big mistake!!! It's hard to find such a high meat content!

Hello Lepakko, yes, unfortunately we had to remove all Nala products from our range due to low demand. For the same reason, we do not offer any 1:1 alternatives. Best regards, Sina

Good morning Sina Thank you for the reply, which is very disappointing. I am surprised at the lack of demand as the Nala shelves were often empty. There was never much advertising for Nala like for other brands... Because Nala was the highest quality cat meat on offer. And that's why you can't offer an alternative in Migi either. You should have turned on the advertising drum first before removing it from the range. It would also be possible for you to inform customers before removing it (thanks to our Cumulus account, you know our entire consumer behaviour at Migros...) so that they can still stock up. Are there any remaining stocks in the Zofingen / Aarau region?

Hello Lepakko, I understand that you are disappointed. However, we have of course also advertised the Nala products. I have passed on to the specialist department that you would have liked more of them. Regarding your input about empty shelves: even if I can understand your train of thought, it's not quite right. If we notice a low demand for a product, we adjust availability accordingly. Why should the stores have too much stock if it is not selling well? The other point is that a product may of course be better received by customers in a certain region than in others. The sales figures across all stores in Switzerland are always relevant for our decisions. Unfortunately, we no longer have any remaining stock that I could offer you, I'm sorry. I have also taken your input regarding prior information when an item is discontinued to the relevant specialist department. The main reason why we hardly implement this at the moment is the flood of information that we are all exposed to these days - in relation to the costs, we see too little benefit. However, I agree that we definitely still have potential here. Kind regards, Sina

We also realized with shock that there is no more Nala. It takes time to change a cat's food. Now we have a problem. This is very disappointing.

Hello cat lovers I suspect that the reason lies somewhere else entirely! The competitor Nestlé, which owns a large part of the cat food brands, wants Nala to disappear from the Migros shelves because Nala competes too strongly with the Nestlé brands. This is the case with these multinationals, especially as the pet food market is a multi-million dollar business. It is obvious that Migros does not point out to customers where Nala is available elsewhere. After all, they don't want the high-quality food to be sourced elsewhere. Perhaps Coop will list the product in its range in future. Let's see. Greetings from Roli with his pet NALA

In the Coop (own brand) there is now a high-quality (= high meat content without pathogenic substances) wet food!!!! Another plus point for the Migi competitor!
