Dear editors of Migusto magazine and dear readers.
I was delighted to receive the monthly Migusto magazine with its great recipes in the post today. I look forward to it every time because I think the magazine is beautifully designed and inspires me to try out new recipes. However, when I wanted to read it, I realized that I first had to unwrap it from the plastic wrap. This was also the case with the previous editions, but I never really noticed it in a negative way. When I think about it now, it's actually even worse that I've never been bothered by it before.
When I opened the plastic wrap today, I was disgusted by the fact that I can only have the magazine in combination with plastic. Everything ''needs'' packaging and produces waste. It made me think of all the other Migusto readers who might have just unpacked their magazine and thrown the plastic wrap in the bin. After all, it's just something that ends up in the bin, something else that will ''hopefully'' be recycled again.
Then I remembered that the plastic wrap wasn't always part of the Migusto magazine. When you didn't get it in the post but had to pick it up at Migros, it wasn't there yet.
Isn't there a way to dispense with the plastic wrap when sending the Migros newspaper by post?
Also, imagine how much extra waste there is when all the magazines are sent wrapped up (according to the imprint, 250000 copies are printed), so climate-neutral printing doesn't help much, nor does the campaign in Madagascar to offset CO2.
I am interested in your views on this and hope to receive an informative answer on the current situation. Of course, I hope that plastic film can and will be dispensed with in the future.
Kind regards
Fiona
