Once you're away for the summer, a lot of things change, even at Migros. We were shocked to discover yesterday that the yogurt range has been completely turned upside down and the budget range has had to make way for it, which is a real shame! First there was no more large raspberry yogurt, now the small 6-packs have disappeared, as have the vanilla yogurts. It's funny that other companies are increasing their low-cost products and creating new ones - Migros is doing exactly the opposite - for us as a large family, these are exactly the products we need! And we're certainly not the only ones. And: it happens to us again and again...
@Familyschaffner: Thank you for your message. I can understand your displeasure. You're away for a while in the summer, come back and your beloved Migros product is no longer on the shelf. Unfortunately, the M-Budget yogurts vanilla, raspberry and crunchy muesli banana choco have actually been removed from the range due to low demand. We examine such decisions carefully. However, it is also part of our job to monitor market developments and make changes.
Incidentally, we are currently permanently reducing the prices of Migros' favorite products week by week and continuing to invest in the familiar Migros quality. There is also a suitable interview with Migros boss Fabrice Zumbrunnen:https://bit.ly/2ZKka4Y
@Cinderella1925 and@Traberli: As mentioned above, we are lowering the prices of our customers' favorite products and continuing to invest in quality. Favorite products are the items that are purchased the most. Unfortunately, we have removed the M-Budget pretzel sticks from our range. However, these were not our customers' favorite salt sticks, for example. They were the "Party Lange salt sticks" https://produkte.migros.ch/party-lange-salzstangen. Incidentally, these are cheaper from today: now CHF 0.90 instead of
CHF 1.20.
However, we still have a lot of our own brands in our range. For example, the Migros brand M-Classic is being expanded and made even more attractive. We will permanently reduce the prices of the following products and continue to invest in quality: M-Classic yogurts, M-Classic muesli or M-Classic corn kernels.
If indeed many favorite = best selling products are lowered in price to M-Budget level, that's fine with me. When I first heard about the favorite products, which was here, there were only 3 products in total on the list. In the meantime, the number of products on the https://produkte.migros.ch/kampagne/dauerhaft-guenstiger page has actually dropped to zero. They must have moved without leaving an address.
"We regularly reduce the prices of Migros favorite products - but not this week. Please check back next week." Only the latest price reductions are displayed - which is just stupid.
"We regularly reduce the prices of Migros favorite products - but not this week. Please check back next week."
And from next week it will be permanently cheaper? I see.
Sebastian: Quote: By the way, we are currently lowering the prices of Migros favorite products permanently week after week and continue to invest in the trusted Migros quality.
I don't think Migros will lower all their favorite products to the MBudget level. If they were to do that, then they could discontinue the MBudget line altogether, then MBudget wouldn't even be needed. I suspect they are lowering the prices of their favorite products because Coop keeps announcing such price cuts and because they probably hope that consumers will continue to shop at Migros and not run away to the competition...
I have to be honest, I was also skeptical at the beginning when Lidl and Aldi "settled down" in Switzerland because of cheap discounters and such, but we still shopped at Lidl and Aldi right from the start (as you know, the proof of the pudding is in the eating). In the meantime, we practically only shop at Lidl and Aldi, and for the rest we go to Migros or Coop (when there are special offers or products that Lidl/Aldi don't have, etc.). Since entering the Swiss market, Aldi and Lidl have quickly seen how things are going here and have very quickly improved the quality of their products, expanded them, added to them, etc. The sales figures - insofar as they are announced by them or leaked in the press - and the constant opening of new stores speak for themselves in my opinion.
For example, we unfortunately still have quite a few colleagues and friends who think Lidl and Aldi are cheap discount stores and they still refuse to go shopping there, sticking to Migros and Coop and the like. We have tried to explain to them several times that Lidl and Aldi have also had Swiss products, organic products etc. in their range for a long time and not just foreign goods, but they have their opinion and won't be dissuaded (something new can't be good or why try something new when the tried and tested is good enough). We always say to each his own, everyone knows what is best for him. We can see it at the end of the month in the budget/cash fall and in the quality of the products (be it fruit, vegetables, meat, etc.) and the great range (cheese, chocolate, etc.). Everyone should decide for themselves.
What I also always find great and what also speaks for Aldi and Lidl: almost every time I go shopping in Lidl or Aldi, I also see older ladies with brand-name clothes, bags etc. (e.g. Chancel, Chancel, etc.). (e.g. Chancel, LV, Gucci etc.) at the checkout, who are shopping - and not just a little - and are totally enthusiastic (there are sometimes funny discussions at the checkout with other customers and with these ladies).
