Hello Migipedia team
Quick question: Is the "normal" Migros Milanese dough (blue packaging) no longer available and only the one from Anna's Best? Or is it even the same recipe?
Best regards

Hello@schneebaer47
In principle, Migros has some dough recipes with butter and some with vegetable margarine (which contains palm oil, among other things) in its range. However, we also have a buttermilk dough without palm oil in our range. You therefore have the choice of which product you would like to buy.
We regularly check the recipes of our products. Palm oil has advantages over other oils if it is grown appropriately. The area efficiency is significantly greater than with other oil plants, with less use of fertilizers and pesticides. In addition, the palm oil used by Migros is RSPO-certified palm oil.
We are actively committed to the further development of the RSPO label and the requirements behind it. You can find out more here:https://generation-m.migros.ch/de/nachhaltige-migros/hintergruende/rohstoffe-sortiment/palmoel.html

...why palm oil at all, just because it is cheaper for "all" producers in the world, don't you think about the future of your grandchildren and their children? ?
Because it is cheap, easy to process and supposedly "sustainable". I still doubt the last point.
I can no longer find pizza and puff pastry without the stuff in it in "my" Migros. But the competition is no better.

Hello@schneebaer47
We are aware that palm oil is currently very controversial. That is why we are also committed to the production of sustainable palm oil. However, boycotting palm oil would not be a solution either, asthisWWFarticleshows.
Palm oil performs far better than other oils in life cycle assessments, particularly with regard to land requirements (see alsotheWWF information sheet), and switching to other oils cannot be a permanent solution, as the criticized environmental problems would merely be transferred to the other oils.
The only sensible way forward is therefore the sustainable cultivation of oil palms. This is why Migros has switched its palm oil to sustainable sources and checks this annually.
Kind regards, Simone

Good morning Simone, palm oil can "NEVER" be sustainable and when you read said article from the Süddeutsche, it makes me sick ?
http://www.sueddeutsche.de/wissen/palmoel-regenwald-rodungen-fuer-den-supermarkt-1.1457107
a "small" excerpt from it:
The red fur is scorched all over the body. Only a black, charred corpse remains of the orangutan. Someone has placed it in the dry grass of Indonesia and photographed it - a victim of slash-and-burn rainforest clearance and palm oil cultivation.
24 percent of the world's palm oil is used in soaps, cosmetics, candles and other industrial products. If you don't want to switch to soap nuts and lava clay, you can hardly avoid palm oil. However, the lion's share of 71 percent is found in food. It is almost always found in cookies, chocolate creams, frying oil and margarine. It is estimated that oil is found in every second supermarket product.
What kind of world do you want to leave to your grandchildren and their children? ?

@stecki
then we only have a very small "product selection"
even in the I AM hand cream "hand and nail balm is now palm oil in it "HYDROGENATED PALM GLYCERIDES CITRATE "that means I have to look for a new hand cream?
@schneebaer47 Your hand cream could also easily be made without palm oil. You just don't want to. It is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid palm oil when shopping, but it is possible.
