I'm wondering where all the produce ends up that is no longer sold because of these mishaps, because the dates are too short or expired or no longer fresh and beautiful. Vegetables and fruit take a long time to prepare and you can't just stop them.

No in Basel, as I said in my first letter about the vegetables.
Hello jeep, thank you for your clarification. I've gone through all the answers to your question and unfortunately I don't see you mention a branch anywhere. Can you narrow down "Basel" a bit so that I can discuss your request with the cooperative? Thank you, best regards, Mara
Hello
I've seen the same thing several times at the Dietikon Migros. Completely empty vegetable shelves!
Hi nadecham, thank you for your comment. Of course, this shouldn't happen. However, we are puzzled by this message, as is management. In general, the branch is always well stocked and we can only imagine that this photo was taken shortly before closing or early in the morning. The manager will review the situation with his team and discuss it.
You are also welcome to visit us on site so that we can better clarify the situation. Best regards, Alex

Hello
The store closes at 8pm and I took the picture at 6:30pm. From my point of view, this is a time when many people have just come home from work and are shopping. It's true that it's not the middle of the day and I understand that with bread that really isn't good the next day. But with pepperoni I find it funny... otherwise everything else is great and the staff are very nice at Migros! 🙃

That was in the dragon center but I assume that is generally an issue at the time and it is not always the same goods that are missing. the staff in this center is very courteous and friendly there is nothing to complain about.

Hey jeep, thanks for your clarification. The cooperative confirms that they have also made agreements with social institutions, such as the Schweizer Tafel, which state that we can give products that could not be sold by a certain date and are close to their best-before date to these social institutions. Migros has also been working with the national organization "Too Good To Go" since the start of 2020. Customers can use this free app to save surplus food and, depending on the region, also flowers. Food is only disposed of if it is past its best-before date or if fresh produce has spoiled prematurely. In this respect, we strictly adhere to Swiss food law. Nevertheless, it is of course not in our interest for there to be gaps on the shelves. We are therefore very grateful for your comment and will be happy to look into this with the relevant departments. Kind regards, Chloe
