I have been using this powder for 16 years and have always been very satisfied with it...
For two weeks now I have had a whitish milky film in the machine ?
I have tried everything, cleaned the machine with a special detergent, then it was nice and clean, everything was tiptop and after a dishwashing everything was milky again, including the dishes...
Now I contacted the manufacturer Zug because I thought maybe the machine was damaged even though it was only 5 years old.
It turned out that it wasn't the machine's fault but that the Handymatic powder had a new formula and no longer contained phosphorus and that this was causing the milky film because the Zug machines save water and electricity and the reduced water consumption means that omitting phosphorus is a problem.
It annoys me, although I also care about the environment, that I am now forced to use a different dishwasher powder because I have no other option.
Such recipe changes should be better coordinated with the manufacturers of the appliances and the consequences should be openly communicated to the customers so that you can save yourself expensive service calls, where you are always charged for the journey of the specialist even if it then turns out that it is about such nonsense !!!!!!!!!! ?

SUN from COOP did the same thing about a year ago, phosphate-free with streaks in the machine!!!!
Then I switched to Finish.
But since this year it has only been available as overpriced tabs.
So I switched to Handymatic Classic powder.
I switched to phosphate-free around March 2015.
I then also saw these clouds very easily and increased the salt dosage in the water softener (Miele machine) by one level.
And now the HandyMatic powder is no longer available
In a small store I saw a note on the shelf saying it would be back at the end of July???
One can only hope!

And the powder hasn't been available for months and there's an empty rack in the store, and nobody knows when it will be delivered again...
The fitter also advised me to use Finish, but I'm absolutely not a fan of tabs and certainly not at such an outrageous price!!!
I'm currently using RAY from Coop Eingenmarke, which still has phosphate in it.
Since it works, I've now stocked up on it...

Thank you for your messages, the switch to phosphate-free formulations was made to protect our waters and will become a legal requirement in the future. We have also set ourselves the task of designing the formulations in such a way that the raw materials used are easily biodegradable. To this end, we use new, innovative substitutes that have been optimized in terms of their chemical structure.
The new formulations were tested intensively and sent to several hundred households for testing purposes. The feedback and all other information was incorporated directly into the production process.
Unfortunately, we have discovered that in rare cases and in conjunction with very hard water, this new formula can cause limescale residues on the dishes and in the machine. Dirt and limescale deposits from the dishwasher, which have formed during the previous period of use, could be loosened again by the new product and finely distributed on the dishes.

Limescale from old deposits is rather unlikely for me, I do a monthly cleaning run with dishwasher cleaner from SUN.
Unfortunately, I can't check the situation at the moment. HandyMatic Classic was switched to phosphate-free a few months ago. I was able to buy a single pack and now it has not been available anywhere for a long time!!! At the moment I only have Ray from the COOP.
The LärchenMärt (Migros-Partenr in Bonnstetten) knew that the powder would be available again from the beginning of August????? I hope that the time has been used for further tests.

As I wrote in my first post, I am also in favor of environmental protection, but the way the dishes look now, you simply can't use them!
I can't influence the water hardness... I have what comes out of the tap and I have to deal with it... :o)
I also can't imagine what good the call can do me because I now know the exact cause but the problem itself has not been solved...

@EugenR: Thanks for your great input with increasing the salt dosage! It has already helped me and my V-Zug machine :-) It has 10 levels, was previously on level 6 and is now on level 8. We have relatively hard water. I'm glad I don't have to run to another supermarket now.
Which is ultimately more environmentally friendly - powder with phosphates or higher consumption of regenerating salt due to phosphate-free powder - remains to be seen!
The limescale problems with my new Handymatic started in mid-August. Unfortunately, it was not possible to contact Mibelle customer service. In the morning, the phone seemed to be constantly busy from 9-12. The email address on the packaging (product@mifa.migros.com) was out of service for over a week (according to the mailer daemon). It took 14 days and a further inquiry via the customer service department of our M branch to receive any confirmation of receipt of the complaint. A company with production problems should not simply go underground. So much for the recommendation to contact product service.
We don't have very hard water in Basel and our machine is regularly serviced according to the manufacturer's instructions. The question is why now - certainly 20 years after the phosphate problem was recognized - a phosphate-free conversion still has to be made. According to iwb (Industrielle Werke Basel), phosphate elimination is now standard and the phosphate-containing residues are stored separately in the Elbisried pit for possible phosphate recovery. So there is certainly enough time to make serious preparations for a changeover.
The best recommendation is to use the Coop product Ray Classic. No problem.

As mentioned above, I have increased the salt dosage and since then I have had no more problems with the phosphate-free powder before the supply interruption.
I will be using a packet from the new production in the next few days. I am curious.
I will then report back. Otherwise there will be Ray in the COOP!
