Hamster purchases

Hamsterkäufe

Hello dear Migros In recent times you could see in the Migros stores how whole shelves were emptied and you couldn't buy anything yourself. What does Migros want to do about it so that such hoarding purchases don't get out of hand? And so that everyone gets something out of it and not a few people hoard everything away.

And of course there will be more at home too 💩

Exactly that!

I must have been to Migros 6 times in the last three weeks, they never had toilet paper, I still have stocks, but not for a year! Please FINALLY limit the purchases per person / household!

Try somewhere else. These are extremely difficult times: Denner, Coop, Lidl, Aldi, etc...

At Migros Suhr / AG there are several pallets of toilet paper in front of the store today.

However, are you aware that now that all restaurants are closed, we have to cook and eat much more at home? You need a lot more food at home than before. As a family of four, I'm particularly aware of this. Before coronavirus, we ate in canteens, school canteens, restaurants, etc. Now we don't have any of that and have to cook at home. Perhaps that explains why we buy so much food.

Aaaber: are you aware that now that all restaurants are closed, much more food has to be cooked and eaten at home? Ifthat were the case, the supply shortage would be noticeable for all foods, especially fresh produce. But that's not the case; in the last two weeks, vegetables, fruit, dairy products, meat, etc. have always been in good supply. Only from March 14-17 was everything emptied, since then people have had to use up what they had stockpiled. The fact that the empty shelves still appear today almost exclusively for non-perishable foodstuffs and toilet paper clearly speaks for further hoarding purchases for "emergency supplies". Attempts to relativize the situation are therefore pointless.

Yes, people are certainly buying more pasta and cans etc... In addition to my previous post, I would like to add that all the Swiss people who shopped abroad before Corona now also have to shop here. This is also added. So the bottom line is that a lot more food is being bought, isn't it?

Yes, thank you, but I don't drive 100km for toilet paper! :-( What do I do now: I talk to my three neighbors, if someone discovers toilet paper in Migros then they buy FOUR packs, which looks like hamsters. It's getting that GDR feeling!
