Chargeable parking space management at Migros

Gebührenpflichtige Parkplatzbewirtschaftung der Migros

The parking lots with and without barriers, as well as the parking garages in many Swiss cities, are managed uniformly by ParkingPay, i.e. you can pay cashless everywhere with the app or the badge - either with LSV/DD or with an account set up there.

All the Migros parking lots with barriers that I have seen are managed by Skidata - you have to search for the coins there. If you happen to only have 50s, then it's even more of a hassle because they always fall through. I've seen people "warm-scratching" this coin for minutes on the front of the machine until the machine finally swallows it.....

I go to Migros every day and I don't understand why Migros can't offer such a solution with a badge, which could then logically be used in all Skidata machines. Many people - especially in rural areas - don't have a direct public transport connection to the shopping center and would have to carry their drinks a long way.

It's not that the "take a slip of paper" rule would be abolished, but it would be an additional function and an acknowledgement (i.e. a courtesy) to the many regular Migros customers.

I look forward to an answer.... but not one along the lines of: Management was outsourced to Skidata - can therefore do nothing.... Migros could certainly encourage the operator to also offer a solution, as the Swiss cities and municipalities do!

The cost issue is really not an argument either, because then there wouldn't have to be 4 machines in the same place - as is the case here - and yet people still have to queue (also nervous because they are paying at the time limit) because another person has to scrape a 50 warm. I think to myself that all this coin management with the change is also very cost-intensive. Just a little food for thought.
