In the past, yes, in the past, when everything was better ;-), Migros had great gherkins in its range, the kind that deserved the name.
Today, Migros only stocks "gherkins", which are far too sweet. Without exception, whether the large ones or gherkins, whether Condy, M-Budget or M-Classic - everything has lots of sugar or - even worse - sweeteners in it, so there is actually no choice. And it's not just Migros. Is this an adaptation to German tastes?
However, we (and many others) find sweet gherkins really disgusting, because we like and want gherkins that are sour - pickles, in other words. And so we simply buy our gherkins in the Coop (extremely expensive) or in France, where gherkins are still gherkins and not a sweet and sour dessert substitute. They are made without sugar or sweeteners and taste so much better.
Are there any pickles worthy of the name again? Why was the recipe simply changed at some point? What a pity, a real pity.

I noticed that too. We only like pickled gherkins without the annoying sugar taste. Our favorite are the large gherkins from Chirat, available in the Coop, which go great with raclette and fondue.
Nothing has changed on the shelves, so we've also moved away from Migros cucumbers. The test is also exciting: Migros is twice as expensive as the test winners, and at the bottom of the list. https://www.srf.ch/article/11974840/amp

Here's another vote for sugar-free gherkins. It's a shame that 6 years after the first post and several brands on offer, there isn't a single one without added sugar. At least I now know where I can get a suitable product. Perhaps the responsible PM at Migros would like to expand/adapt the range this year? We would be pleased not to have to go to the Coop just for gherkins.

Hello Dimisa We don't actually have any gherkins without added sugar in our range at the moment. I have informed the product managers about the requests for sugar-free gherkins. They are constantly reviewing the demand for such a product. Nevertheless, ONE variety without any sugar/sweetener would be desirable. I don't care about the Condy, I would like real vinegar and pickled gherkins.

The issue has been on the table at Migros for several years. But it doesn't work. Migros is in love with sugar. It even adds sugar to new products...........simply terrible.
I always buy the organic cornichons, which also have sugar on the list, but are much less sweet than Condy, for example... Hmm, now you've made me curious, I didn't even think there was such a thing without sugar *gg*. I once made pickles myself, but they were really tangy phuuuuu ;-)
