Introduction of proposals

Einführung von Vorschlägen

Hello dear Migipedia,

I've read through a few posts here and have already made some suggestions myself, but one thing bothers me about Migipedia:
Suggestions for product range expansions, which ultimately also benefit Migros, are often rejected here.

I can't remember an article that was reintroduced or newly listed thanks to Migipedia (no voting articles on which product range should be introduced).

Suggestions such as Like Meat products, or Gloria shampoo, but also a revision of Skyr are not taken into consideration in my eyes and left alone.

I ask myself why I keep suggesting products here, even though I can be sure that they won't be introduced.

"No space", "Too little demand", "We have decided against it" are often the answers.

If Migros wanted to move the market, and not the market Migros, then hopefully some suggestions would be positively received and implemented.

Migros often does not react, and lo and behold... a few weeks later you find the products on the shelves at Coop.
What a pity... Migipedia has much more potential.

Migipedians used to listen much more to criticism (I have the feeling). For example, the M-Budget toilet paper was then listed in 2 variants... or other articles such as the canned kebab...

What do you think comunity? Migipedia?

The problem with introductions such as protein cheese, as well as other products that have been requested, is that they are only available in larger stores.

Unfortunately, not everyone can or wants to go shopping in larger stores.
In addition, coconut margarine is not available in all stores.

The light protein bread has been requested so often. Somehow, however, nobody at Jowa seems to want to take it up again.

The Alpro issue is over for me anyway. As I was once told privately (PN), Alpro is not interested in supplying Migros. Why, why no idea. They do supply Coop, so why they want to supply Migros... I don't know.

We would like to take another brief look at your criticism of Migipedia itself and the introduction of new products. As Sebastian wrote, there have recently been some new products based on Migipedia suggestions. Migipedia is extremely important for us and an important part of the product range analysis. More than ten people work with you on a daily basis and many of the topics raised are also subsequently discussed in our editorial meetings.

To ensure that a product proposal ultimately ends up on the shelf, we also carry out detailed analyses of our own and external data on the Swiss market, trends and new products in Europe and around the world. This part of the analysis is not always clearly comprehensible because it is not public. Launching a product always involves a lot of work before you can buy it. The good thing is that we can work closely with the Migros industry, making it easier to bring new products to market than with third-party partners. But at the end of the day, we always have to check whether the effort and risk involved in launching a product throughout Switzerland is worth it. We can of course understand your disappointment if a product that you have been passionate about for a long time doesn't make it onto the Migros shelves.

As you mentioned dairy products in particular, we asked again. I received a very detailed answer about skyr in particular, which I am happy to pass on to you directly:

We complied with the request for less sugar as much as possible when we introduced the products. Our skyr contains around 13% sugar. Other quark-based products on the Swiss market have around 15%. We have deliberately avoided using sugar substitutes, as we believe they are not natural enough and are not possible for the You brand (which relies on natural ingredients). As our data shows that You Skyr already has a very large fan base, we were unfortunately unable to respond to requests for even less sugar, otherwise we would have upset them. However, we have launched a You Skyr nature as soon as possible so that customers have the option of "diluting" the remaining Skyr. We also just launched a high protein quark under the Oh! brand a few days ago. This has no added sugar at all and only contains the sugars that are naturally present in the product.

We hope that we can give you a little insight into our processes. We take your suggestions seriously and pay attention to them, even if they are not immediately followed by a product launch.

Kind regards

Dominik

I also get upset about Migros. Regardless of the topic, they always come up with justifications and standard explanations, or even alternatives that you haven't even asked about.
It would be so easy, sugar out and if sweetened, then with sweetener. Better than sugar.

and that is precisely why the "thumbs down" should be reintroduced!

Sorry, but I don't see that as an answer to Skyr....

Why don't you just launch a Skyr that doesn't run under YOU?

Just as far as I'm concerned: Leger Skyr, M-Budget Skyr, M-Classic Skyr, Oh Sykr...

This fan community you mention are not fitness people. They are the people who are jumping on the Skyr bandwagon because it's the IN product at the moment. A fitness enthusiast would not buy your skyr. I prefer Skyr from Lidl or the original from Coop.

Further introduction and analysis.
This is exactly the problem with Migros.... They analyze far too much instead of just putting it on the market and seeing how it is received. What kind of success have your analyses seen with the AvB Flops or Dönerbox Kebap?

The low fat high protein ice cream trend is huge in NL, DE, UK, US, BE, ES, FR etc. .... Halo Top, for example, will soon replace Ben&Jerrys as the leader in the ice cream market in the USA (report in the newspaper)...

Halo Top is American... I understand that. At least Oppo, Breyers could be used as a replacement.

Yes, the light protein bread was better and suddenly gone... I also don't have the feeling that the suggestions will be well received, just think of the drama with Alpro.

Oh yes the light protein bread and the "harzer" was so super good, even the prices!!!! I really miss these products now that I can no longer travel to Germany to buy them : (((

I absolutely agree with you. I remember well when the light protein bread that was so well received by customers was simply taken out of the range. And Migros keeps coming up with the same justifications.... You can't "hear" / "read" it anymore.

Exactly my words, the same thing over and over again. Something has to change at some point

If everyone goes along with it, it probably won't change. It's been like that for years. Everything keeps getting more expensive. What you now pay for bread, for example, which is a very basic foodstuff, is really no longer normal.

Oh yes, the Gloria shampoo. Please please please resurrect it. Those were such fragrant times back then :-) :-)

Who remembers that one from ABBA, https://youtu.be/3II8vNinoiI
