It would be really nice if Migros could make an Epiphany cake that is made without palm oil and with sweeteners instead of sugar.

It would be very desirable if there were simply Epiphany cakes with Swiss butter instead of palm oil, even if the palm oil was produced "sustainably", as Migros certainly promises. PS: I was already standing at the MIGROS checkout today when I looked at the list of ingredients - I didn't buy the Epiphany cake!

Hi Michi2000, Thank you for your review. I will be happy to pass on your request to the pastry department. Perhaps there are already plans in this direction. Let us be surprised. Best regards, Tamara

The open one in the bread bag at Coop has butter instead of palm oil, "400g Bio Naturaplan Dreikönigskuchen" for 4.95. I haven't seen any with palm oil in the fresh bread rack there, luckily. I didn't even know the ingredients in the Migros one, it's a shame they still seem to be lagging behind "because palm oil has a better taste and feel".
It's also strange that wholesalers don't sell palm oil as such when it's supposed to be so great. Do they not want customers to have to put up with the "better sensory properties and taste of palm oil" in their own private bakeries?

Thank you for your suggestion Kritisch. I know that our baking department is looking intensively for alternatives to palm oil in its products. Where possible, we are switching to other fats. I have put your request to them and hope that we will soon be able to offer you an Epiphany cake without palm oil. Best regards, Tamara

Take the recipe from MIGUSTO and prepare it without charging 1.- more than for the palm oil version: https://migusto.migros.ch/de/rezepte/dreikoenigskuchen

Hello Bodenseeknusperli. The hail sugar is coated with palm oil. Without this coating, it would melt on the cake. Best regards, Tamara

Hi Kritisch, we are delighted that you are making the Epiphany cake yourself using the Migusto recipe. Your feedback has been placed with those responsible. Best regards, Heidi

Somehow I was misunderstood. Actually, I just wanted to point out to MIGROS that their search for alternatives to palm oil could be found in their own MIGUSTO recipes. "Tamara wrote: I know that our baking department is looking hard for alternatives to palm oil in their products. Where possible, we are switching to other fats.
