Cumulus Mastercard - what happens after canceling with Cembra?

Cumulus Mastercard - wie geht es weiter nach der Kündigung bei Cembra ?

Hello, I would like to know what will happen with the Cumulus Mastercard. Who will be issuing it from July 2022? Will everything remain as before or will the card be subject to a charge? Will there still be Cumulus points per CHF 3 (1 point) for payments with the credit card outside the Migros Group? It would be nice if customers were informed. Kind regards

P.S. Dear Migros, dear Ms. Schreiber: When do you intend to inform your customers properly? A small article in the Migros newspaper and then quickly remove the link? I guess there was alcohol involved ;-) According to the motto, dear customers, please inform yourselves and don't run over Migros Bank, which has just had to install a new, confusing website. Anyone looking for information (of any kind) will not find what they are looking for....

The way it looks: 1. you do nothing The Cumulus Mastercard from Cembra Bank will be replaced by the new Cashback Mastercard when it expires. https://certo-card.ch/certo/de/ 2. you still want a Cumulus credit card To do this, you have to cancel the Cumulus Mastercard at Cembra Bank and apply for the Cumulus Visa Card at Migrosbank: https://www.migrosbank.ch/privatpersonen/konten-karten/karten.html Scroll far down -> Other cards - Cumulus credit card This is then for external customers (requires *no* account with Migrosbank) For internal customers, the Visa Free is provided there (requires an account with Migrosbank) It makes sense not to cancel the Cembra card until a positive decision has been received from Migrosbank after the application. The PDF documents at https://www.migrosbank.ch/privatpersonen/konten-karten/karten/cumulus-kreditkarte/dokumente.html are also available for this purpose.

A press release was sent out by Migros this morning (July 1, 2022). DIE SÜDOSTSCHWEIZ was possibly the only newspaper to pick up the information. And yes, the Migros magazine will also provide information. In the issue of Monday, July 4, 2 pages. Information from the link in the press release: https://cumulus.migros.ch/de/cumulus-kreditkarte.html Here you can go directly to the application at Migros Bank (choose between application via browser or smartphone): http://tinyurl.com/mwmsbmf6 The QR code for the application on the smartphone does not work for me. But maybe it's my poor wireless network. Edit: BLICK has also reported: https://www.blick.ch/wirtschaft/wer-die-besseren-karten-hat-cembra-und-migros-kaempfen-um-cumulus-kreditkartenkunden-id17624372.html TAGES-ANZEIGER: https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/das-muessen-migros-kunden-ueber-die-neue-cumulus-kreditkarte-wissen-712091591330

This article appeared in my newspaper yesterday: https://www.derbund.ch/das-muessen-migros-kunden-ueber-die-neue-cumulus-kreditkarte-wissen-712091591330 It's interesting to hear that the new Certo Mastercard from Cembra gives you a 1% cashback on payments to Migros, Coop and SBB. If that's the case, I will of course order the card. Then I'll use the new Cumulus credit card for the Cumulus login when shopping at Migros and pay with the Certo Mastercard, which will earn me Cumulus points + 1% cashback. I also use the new Cumulus credit card for purchases outside Migros and abroad. I will be canceling the Visa Supercard from Coop, which I currently use to pay for purchases at Migros in order to collect Superpoints.

So getting the card worked out completely digitally! Verification only takes a few minutes and you can add the card to Apple Pay and pay immediately!!!!! I've never had a credit card so quickly! 🔝 To collect Migros points you have to scan the number in Migros !!!!! as before It's on the back like before. A little English is useful because with the selfie 🤳 it means closer to the camera (move closer) and also the own photo was a little tricky from the iPhone but it worked and also physical card arrived first comes the pin ! This is visible in the app! And finally I can pay via ebanking, ebill! Cembra can't do it! But you don't have to select viseca in ebill. Migros Bank works, I have already received a small invoice! You have to enter a long number that can be seen in the app that starts with 17. Cembra I found that to cancel otherwise you get a new card when the old one expires !!!! https://www.cembra.ch/~/media/docs/ext/cards/common/de/pdf/Cembra_Kuendigungsformular_D.pdf

None of this really surprises me - the description by @meyrob in the 2nd post is interesting and then the apt answers by @Nachtspalter in : https://migipedia.migros.ch/de/forum/migros/die-neue-cumulus-kreditkarte?backtoboard=p%3D5 I'll just say Migros Bank - Viseca... or as the saying goes : Many cooks spoil the broth

I'm slowly getting to the point where I'm giving up the Cumulus credit card (the new one) and Migros as well. It seems as if only rich, digitally super-savvy, young people are favored. You can do without the other "garbage" (older people and single households)... Anyway, I'm still waiting for the new credit card, after online application, letter with paper application to sign, letter 2 is now supposed to be on its way for further information... and for this information I had to call 3 times on 2 days and wait up to an hour on the phone! Cheeky... Requested online on 19.08.22 - but as I have read, there are people who have been waiting since July...

Thank you @Migrosbesitzer for the detailed description of the current situation. It describes my justified doubts about a successful solution to the largest credit card takeover by Migros Bank. THANK YOU !
