Cola light

What's going wrong at Migros when it comes to Coca Cola light? LeShop hasn't had any large bottles for weeks and neither has the reopened Migros Wohlen (I don't know what the situation is in the other stores). At LeShop it says "currently not available", at Migros Wohlen "delivery interruption" (too good that you at least left a little space for it, the small Cola light has completely disappeared from the store?

According to a lady from LeShop, it was delivery problems. I didn't even ask at Migros directly because it was so annoying. And at Cola Switzerland they say "no, we don't know anything about delivery problems".

How much longer can it take? And why do you look so bad as a Diet Coke drinker when Diet Coke is being taken out everywhere? Cola Zero is scary, I can't get it down and as Cola Switzerland put it so well "there's a favorite drink for everyone, one likes this, the other likes that more". I miss my Cola light ... Coop and Denner have no problems getting Diet Coke delivered. Why can't Migros do that?

cola1.jpegCola light 45 cl is now available at LeShop. The big ones will probably be back soon: "The stock is constantly being updated. The missing items will be available again soon.".

In my case, there are actually very few. Hopefully Diet Coke is not on Migros' hit list after all. At the latest when Coke Zero is declared the "favorite product", we'll know what hit it. Many people here have just complained about the declining content:

You know the principle of favorite products, don't you? See 2nd paragraph of

Coca-Cola zero will certainly not be declared a favorite product, as it is not a Migros product but a third-party brand.

The Budget Cola Zero has also replaced the Budget Cola Light!
I thought the Light was much better, or is it just not available where I shop?

Diet Coke is definitely better than Zero.

But often enough there's no light, so everyone goes for zero. Sure, that's how you artificially create a favorite product. But at some point the customers want the other real favorite and then they go elsewhere.
In the long term, this is not a way to build customer loyalty.

I'm glad I'm not alone :-) If you like Zero, drink it, it's just not mine. But treating Cola light so neglectfully is simply not good. There's no good substitute available, so you just go to the Coop or Denner. I like going to Migros, I noticed that especially now that I couldn't get to the one in Wohlen for a month. Nevertheless, I don't think it's okay to take Cola light completely out of the range (at least in small, and it hasn't been available in large for ages). According to Cola Switzerland, there are no supply problems, so what's the problem?

@Traberli

Budget Cola Light is no longer available anywhere (I've already checked practically every Migros in Zurich for it), Migros has replaced the Budget Cola Light version with Budget Cola Zero... (an employee confirmed this to me the other day when I asked her about it)

Yes, I also think Diet Coke is better than Zero Coke, but as I'm not prepared to pay the same price for the 450ml bottles as for the 500ml bottles, I either buy the Zero alternatives from Lidl/Aldi/MBudget or Pepsi Max (Pet, can) or Coke Zero (can).

Unfortunately, there is often no light version. You can't even get a Coke Light in restaurants anymore, they only stock Coke Zero (at least in Zurich this is the case almost everywhere)...

@rkorner

The "treating Diet Coke so neglected" thing is not just coming from Migros, the Coca-Cola group itself has been pushing Coke Zero like crazy since its launch. I suspect that sooner or later Coca-Cola will throw Coke Light out of its range or stop producing it - at the latest when Coca-Cola's sales figures are no longer right... (There are already signs of this, it was leaked in the press a few years ago; to my knowledge, Coca-Cola denied this at the time, but just as Coca-Cola is replacing 500ml bottles with 450ml and charging the same price, it is quite possible that Coke Light will disappear completely in a few years' time because it is not generating the desired sales for Coca-Cola).

If Migros doesn't have Coke Light, then just go to the competition (Coop, Denner), the price is the same everywhere because it is dictated by Coca-Cola.

Only the companies involved (Migros and Coca-Cola) know whether there are really no delivery problems or similar. They would never admit in such a forum that there are delivery problems or what the real reason is. Such things are swept under the carpet or are certainly not made public.

It could also be that Coca Cola wants to push through a price increase for Coke Light and Migros is going on the barricades or something similar. Or perhaps Coca Cola has cut back production of Coke Light and now Migros has to wait for delivery, etc. We consumers can only speculate, the only thing we will get are denials, reassurances, nice meaningless marketing phrases, etc. We will never know the real reasons...

As I said, if there's no Coke Light at Migros, there are others (Coop, Denner) that have it in their range. So just go there. And then Migros will wonder again why sales are falling and customers are running away...

Hello @Nachtspalter,

If Coca Cola Zero is not your favorite product, then just
https://produkte.migros.ch/m-budget-cola-zero

M-Budget items can definitely become it, that was explicitly said.

However, I hardly think that this week's favorite product Orchidee is a Migro product. But when I saw it in the store on Friday, I didn't look. When I look at the list of private labels
https://www.migros.ch/de/einkaufen/migros-marken.html
I can't imagine that it could be attributed to one of these brands. Even my cat grass comes from a supplier (which they changed some time ago, it's been a while now).

I would really like to know exactly what criteria Migros uses to declare products as favorites (and by that I don't mean Migros' reasoning, which was once posted here in the forum as an answer, but I mean the real reason - which of course they don't want to reveal to consumers)... Some of the products on it really make me wonder how they managed to become a favorite product...

Hello @smartcoyote, I personally am really enthusiastic about Migros' price initiative. And I'm pleased that a broad customer base is benefiting from these price reductions and quality improvements, even if I'm not equally impressed by all the products. One of our customers' favorite products is what the word entails: it is the most popular product in a product line in our range, for example, and therefore undergoes a price or quality overhaul. Of course, we also have to examine the possibilities for changes to the products. Kind regards, Sina
