I wonder why Migros has decided to go it alone when it comes to reusable tableware. The big canteens (zfv and sv) and even the competitor Coop work directly with Recircle and don't just order the crockery through them. Talk about wanting to protect the environment, but not really?

@Hausthaler:Migros is fully on board, having started 2.5 years before Coop, less than 4 months after the end of the test phase at the end of August 2016.
Migros uses the reusable tableware at 230 locations against 182 for all others combined (source here). I suspect the large order from Migros has made a not insignificant contribution to the company's success. I wouldn't call that going it alone.
@Traberli: It's a shame that there is no date onhttps://generation-m.migros.ch/de/nachhaltig-leben/verpackung/mehrwegschale.html as to when the page was last updated. Perhaps the reusable trays are now available at new locations. In my area, not only MMM stores are on the list, but also MM and even two M stores with a coffee corner.
I read there at Migros Aare: "Migros-Restaurant Bern-Breitenrain (from 23.05.19)". And since then ?
At Coop there is a 10% discount if you buy more than 10 francs worth of contents, but the deposit is twice as high as at Migros (and the food itself is probably also more expensive). The cheaper the deposit, the lower the inhibition threshold to take advantage of the offer. Some bowls are probably used at home for weeks for daily use (microwave, picnic...) and only returned when they show signs of wear and tear. How can Migros offer additional discounts?
@Cinderella1925CanI now return a Recircle bowl to Migros or vice versa? No, so Migros is being cross about what they say. They say they want to do something for the environment, but then they don't do it properly. To be clear; I think it's great that Migros has reusable trays! I just want to know WHY they don't participate in Recircle when Migros clearly considers the trays to be of sufficient quality.
Hello everyone
The background to the Migros reusable trays is that the "original tray" has a different process: here the customer washes his tray himself.
This does not correspond to our idea that our customers return their used bowls unwashed, we take care of the washing.
I would be happy to draw my colleagues' attention to the request to add a date to the list of locations.
Kind regards
Kathrin
@Kathrin_MigrosWithRecircle,however, it is not the case that customers wash their own trays. So this is not the reason why Migros operates a closed system. I'm still waiting for an answer to this question ;).
Good morning@Hausthaler
"At Recircle, however, it is not the case that the customer washes their own bowl."
Both are possible, as I read on reCircle:
"After the meal, you take the reBOX back to a partner takeaway and get your 10 francs back or a fresh BOX. Or you can wash out the reBOX yourself and have it refilled again and again. "
Best regards
Frederica
Sometimes I don't understand you.

Recircle - then go where it's available, if that's important.
Migros has its own. Or just the one-time disposable. Or eat there straight away?
Or just: Return Migros reusable bottles to Migros at some point...
It's the same with deposit bottles in Germany!
There are some that you have to take to the exact store (chain store) where you bought them... Organic, beer, there are special bottles.
And don't crush them!
Only bottles that are not crushed will be taken (yes, afterwards they may be shredded..., but when scanning, please keep the bottles intact and whole...).
PS:
Prepare them yourself in your own reusable bowl ?? .
I've been doing this for ages!
And the few times I eat somewhere else, it doesn't really matter whether it's disposable or reusable (yes, it's that rare!).
Migros should do its thing as Migros sees fit... If it works, it's good, if it doesn't, they'll certainly adapt it... The proof of the pudding is in the eating
